Seven mares, two places paid at 1/4 odds. The market has made Colegram favourite at evens, and it’s hard to argue too hard with that given Dan Skelton’s yard is firing at 12 winners from 24 runners over the last 14 days. Harry Skelton rides, a combination that hits 20% at this track. Colegram’s form reads /311-3, so she has won twice over hurdles and was placed last time. If the Skelton machine is cranked up, she wins this.

The each-way play, though, is Mirabello Each-Way at 13/8 (BoyleSports). Four runners, which strips out the each-way market entirely. This one is a straight match between the front two in the market and a compelling each-way case that doesn’t apply given the size of the field.

Crystal Glance at 15/8 (BoyleSports, Betfred) is the selection. Her form of 1353-1 is solid, with a win last time showing she returned to form on her most recent start. Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero saddle her, and as noted, they are in fine form across the board right now. Jack Tudor is a capable partner, and Crystal Glance’s profile suggests she’s a mare that handles varying conditions. The Good ground with light rain suits a horse that won most recently rather than one whose last run was a pulled-up effort.

Il Va De Soi is the 5/4 favourite with consistent form showing 758-11, back-to-back wins, but the price is too tight for a race where Crystal Glance has form to match it. Supreme Yeats at 10/3 is worth a glance if the Skelton yard’s 14-day stats of 14 from 28 runners feel compelling, but at this trip on Good ground against a mare in recent winning form, the Greenall and Guerriero runner edges it.
