This is a small seven-runner field so each-way terms are tight, but Saucy Jane off the back of a win last time is the value play. She scored 14 days ago, Jack Morland’s yard is going well with a 2/7 recent record, and she is proven over today’s trip. The figures put her third of seven, but she has course experience and the yard confidence that matters most right now.

In The City rates highest of all on the figures at 92 and would be a fascinating each-way angle at 28/1 if the layoff of 47 days is not a concern for punters. Horses rated this clearly superior on raw figures rarely fail to hit the frame on return, and Warren Greatrex does know how to have a horse ready. The risk is obvious, but at 28/1 the price absorbs plenty of doubt. Grey Horizon at 10/3 is the market danger, placed last time and quick to reappear.

Little Miss Magic tops this entire field on the figures with a rating of 62, won last time out to end a modest run of form, and has the five furlongs proven. Six runners means this is not a race to spread across each-way terms, so a win-only stake makes most sense at 2/1.

Secret Handsheikh at 9/4 is the obvious danger, also a recent winner and rated second on the figures. The market has him narrow favourite to favourite with Little Miss Magic depending on the book you use. The difference is the figures are stacked slightly in Little Miss Magic’s favour and she has the class edge in what is a modest heat.

Each-Way angle: Each-Way Beach Partee at 8/1 (Boyle Sports) catches the eye at a price in a six-runner field. Consistent without winning, third on the figures, and Scott Dixon runs two horses in the race which suggests strong stable confidence in the draw or conditions. The 8/1 price with two places on offer is workable.
