Six runners and the market is led by Noble Prince at 8/11. The angle here is straightforward but compelling. Connor Planas rides Noble Prince for Charlie Appleby, and two statistics make this hard to ignore.

Planas holds a remarkable 33% win rate at Doncaster with an A/E of 2.65. That is not a volume stat built on shortcuts, that is a jockey who consistently outperforms expectations at this track. Appleby meanwhile sits at 23% wins here, comfortably the strongest trainer record on the card, and his yard has been in sharp form at 10 from 24 over the past 14 days. That is a stable firing on all cylinders heading into mid-August.

Noble Prince ran fourth on debut, which is respectable form for a Godolphin juvenile stepping up to 7f on quick ground. The yard targets these EBF races deliberately at this time of year, the step from debut to second run often brings a significant improvement, and with the two best course stats on the card aligned behind one runner, the odds-on price is justified.

Jessica at 4/1 from Kevin Philippart De Foy is worth a mention. His course record (16% wins, A/E 1.09) is solid, and the filly ran fifth on debut with potential to progress. She is a viable alternative for those who want a bigger price, but Noble Prince at 8/11 is the call.

Golden Long Each-Way at 11/4 with Boyle Sports is the headline selection. Lemos De Souza’s yard is in exceptional form at 2 from 6 over the past 14 days, and Sean Levey picks up the ride. The form reads /53171, which tells you everything: a winner last time out, a winner three starts back, and consistent placed efforts in between. He carries 139lbs after 42 days off the track, but fit or not, horses returning from that kind of break with a yard firing this hot should not be underestimated. The going suits, the trip suits, and the form is there.

Zubaru at 7/2 is the each-way alternative. George Scott has a 15% win rate at Doncaster (A/E 1.16) and has been placing horses consistently with 2 from 13 in the past fortnight. Zubaru’s form shows 112415, with a win two starts back and experience of both the trip and today’s going.
