Dunstall Park Greyhound Tips – Thursday, 14 May 2026
Wolverhampton’s Dunstall Park hosts a 12-race card on Thursday afternoon, with first race at 14:29 and the finale at 17:56 across the sand surface. The feature races sit at A2 and A3 grades, offering competitive mid-tier betting on the standard 480m trip.
14:48 – Grade A2, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Porthall Lucia | 2y B | N Slowley | 445 |
| 2 | Ivys Holly | 2y B | D T Smith | 315 |
| 3 | Fastnet Force | 2y D | J Hall | 111 |
| 4 | Roanna Koko | 2y D | R Williams | No form |
| 5 | Invergarry | 3y D | R Short | No form |
| 6 | Kingdom Bucks | 2y D | D T Smith | No form |
Fastnet Force emerges as the standout here. The two-year-old dog trained by J Hall has won three of his last four starts, including back-to-back wins on 27 April (by half a length) and 4 May (by 1.5 lengths). Most recently he won at A3 grade, stepping into A2 company now. His form comments show consistent early pace (EP, Rls notation), and he has demonstrated he can lead from bend two onwards and hold on under pressure. Trap 3 is neutral at Dunstall on the 480m (21% win strike over the last 60 days), but Fastnet Force’s recent acceleration and finishing power should carry him through. Porthall Lucia won here on 2 April at A2 but has since slipped to four placings in a row, most recently fourth on 7 May. Ivys Holly showed promise with an A3 win on 20 April but then faltered fifth at the same grade days later, suggesting form is fragile. NAP: Fastnet Force, Trap 3.
15:26 – Grade A4, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mercia Anglo | 3y D | K Harrison | 422 |
| 2 | Bangon Teddy | 3y D | S Deakin | 443 |
| 3 | Swift Woozy | 4y B | D T Smith | 142 |
| 4 | Tee Emgee Outlaw | 2y D | S Deakin | No form |
| 5 | Devilgate Joe | 3y D | R Lambe | No form |
| 6 | Edial Magic | 2y D | S Cull | No form |
Swift Woozy commands attention in this lower-grade contest. The four-year-old bitch trained by D T Smith has won twice in her last five starts (4 April and 9 April), both at A5/A6 and A7 grades. She is stepping up slightly into A4 but has proven competitive at similar or higher difficulty levels. Her form string over recent weeks reads 11241 (reading left to right, most recent right): strong consistency with two wins boxed in. She runs from Trap 2, which carries a 15% strike rate on the 480m at Dunstall over 60 days, but her proven middle-running style (Rls-Mid notation) and finishing kick (SnHandy, FnWll) should compensate. Mercia Anglo, Trap 1 (35% strike rate), has also shown form but recorded a 4th place on 9 May and is less consistent. NAP: Swift Woozy, Trap 2.
15:44 – Grade A3, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Porthall Finn | 2y D | N Slowley | 233 |
| 2 | First Ambition | 1y D | J Rigby | 421 |
| 3 | Inclement Dream | 2y B | S Deakin | 455 |
| 4 | Darbys Harlie | 3y B | S Aveline | No form |
| 5 | Mohican Lucy | 2y B | D T Smith | No form |
Porthall Finn, trained by N Slowley, looks the most solid proposition. The two-year-old dog won here on 9 April at A3 grade and has since recorded 3rd, 3rd, 2nd finishes, proving he can stay competitive. His form comments show he uses the rails and leads from bend two, then holds on or challenges late (Rls, Ld-3/4 notation). Running from Trap 1 (35% win strike) affords him the strongest trap bias on the card. First Ambition has shown promise from Trap 2 (winning the 16 April sprint and the 3 May 270m hurdle), but the puppy (one year old) may lack the seasoning for consistent A3 form. Inclement Dream is badly out of form, with two 5th places and one 4th in her last three runs. NAP: Porthall Finn, Trap 1.
16:03 – Grade A2, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Headford Babs | 2y B | S Deakin | 232 |
| 2 | Lov De Nitelife | 3y B | K Harrison | 322 |
| 3 | Brosna Cash | 2y D | R Williams | 134 |
| 4 | Ashtons Deako | 1y D | S Deakin | No form |
| 5 | Strideaway Blunt | 1y D | J Hall | No form |
| 6 | Midget Lee | 2y B | K Harrison | No form |
Headford Babs presents strong appeal. The two-year-old bitch trained by S Deakin ran a highly competitive 2nd on 9 May from Trap 2, just 0.75 lengths adrift. Before that she has racked up serious form at A1 grade over 500m at Nottingham, winning on 6 March and placing second twice. She has proven early pace (EP notation) and can lead or challenge from bend one onwards. Trap 1 (35% strike) would be ideal, but she starts from Trap 1 on this card and that trap has been her strongest platform. Lov De Nitelife has won once in five outings and sits on mixed form with three placings in her last five; she looks vulnerable to a dog in better fettle. Brosna Cash won narrowly on 9 May but that came from Trap 5 in a tighter finish, and he has struggled to reproduce that form consistently. NAP: Headford Babs, Trap 1.
The Dunstall Park card features solid A2 and A3 racing across the afternoon, with no hurdle or sprint distance races scheduled. All four feature races sit at the standard 480m trip on sand, suiting dogs with good rails running and bend control.
