Hamilton Tips: Thursday 25 June 2026

Hamilton stages a seven-race card on good to firm ground under partly sunny skies, and the track’s stiff uphill finish means stamina and a genuine pace advantage matter more here than anywhere. Three races jump out as punting opportunities: the opening 5f handicap, the juvenile fillies’ maiden, and the 1m1f maiden to close. K A Ryan and K R Burke are both firing at this venue, and the jockey stats make Ray Dawson and Jack Nicholls worth following throughout the afternoon.

6:30 โ€” GTC 10th Anniversary EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (5f, Good To Firm)

Selection: Call Nicki (7/4, Boyle Sports)

This is a weak maiden for juveniles and Call Nicki is comfortably the most experienced filly in the field, with four runs and four placed efforts to her name. The slight concern is she has not yet converted, but that placed record shows consistent ability rather than a horse that bottles the moment. Her last run at Carlisle saw her fade late over an extra furlong, and the drop back to 5f on Hamilton’s sharp track is exactly the move her form profile has been crying out for. Hamilton’s quick surface on good to firm suits, and Tim Easterby, despite modest overall numbers in the past 14 days (5/84), knows how to place a filly like this when conditions align.

Sovereign Grace (9/4, Boyle Sports) is the market favourite and clearly holds talent, but her debut at York told us almost nothing given the traffic she encountered. Against a filly with four solid runs of public form, that unknown quantity doesn’t justify the price compression. Pretty Little Baby (3/1) is interesting given the form boost from Thirsk, but the wide draw in stall 8 is a genuine concern for a horse making only her second start. Call Nicki gets the vote at a price that actually makes sense.

7:30 โ€” Patersons Of Greenoakhill Handicap (5f, Good To Firm)

Selection: Parisiac Each-Way (6/1, Boyle Sports)

Nine runners in a 5f handicap on good to firm at Hamilton is exactly the race where you want a horse with recent form at this course, and Parisiac ticks that box with authority. He won here three starts ago off a mark 4lb lower, he ran a perfectly respectable race last time out when taken on for the lead and still finished within 1.25 lengths, and he returns off the identical mark. The trainer Iain Jardine is showing 3/34 in recent weeks which is modest, but Jack Nicholls takes the ride and that jockey’s Hamilton record is outstanding: 26% winners, A/E of 1.21. The first-time cheekpieces are a mild flag to watch, but they are more likely to sharpen him than dull his effort.

Tatterstall (9/2) is clearly the one to beat on merit. The comment says it all: went within three-quarters of a length at Thirsk off a mark 1lb higher and is top-rated. The problem is the market knows this and 9/2 is not a price that rewards the risk in a nine-runner sprint. At 6/1 Parisiac is the value call, and with three places paid at 1/5 odds, each-way is the play in a competitive field of this size.

8:00 โ€” Indigo Unified Comms Maiden Stakes (1m1f, Good To Firm)

Selection: Valenday (11/4, Boyle Sports)

The blinkers are the key angle here. Valenday ran as a juvenile with solid form and arrives off a break looking sharper for it, with first-time headgear fitted to ensure he does not idle. His placed form over a mile gives him the tactical pace to handle this trip, and 1m1f on good to firm on a stiff track looks a natural progression. Top-rated in the field and K Stott takes the ride, a jockey who wins 18% at this course.

Kahin (evens, Betfred) is the obvious danger with Haggas in cracking form (11/32) and Mulrennan up, but even money about a horse that has placed twice in maidens without winning does not offer value. Valenday at 11/4 with genuine excuses for his last run and blinkers as a clear intent from the yard is the smarter bet.

Today’s NAP

Jockey silksCall Nicki โ€” GTC 10th Anniversary EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (6:30, Hamilton)
Odds: 7/4 โ€” Boyle Sports (others: 13/8 Betfred, 13/8 LiveScore Bet)

Four races, four placed efforts, and now dropping back to the sharp 5f trip that suits her profile on good to firm ground. Every rival with form is making only their second start; Call Nicki has been schooled by race experience and arrives as the form horse in what amounts to a novice field. Easterby knows this track and Connor Beasley keeps the ride. The 7/4 available at Boyle Sports is the standout price and worth taking before it compresses.
