Hove Greyhound Tips – Saturday, 13 June 2026
Brighton’s fast sand surface and tight bends demand sharp trap awareness, particularly in the shorter sprints where wide trappers hold a decisive edge. A 12-race card from 18:06 to 21:46 showcases competitive A-grade racing across three feature events at 500m, with quality depth throughout.
18:26 – Grade A3, 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gingers Layla | 2y B | P J Browne | 111 |
| 2 | Minstrels Six | 4y B | J Heath | 531 |
| 3 | Blueisthecolor | 3y D | J Harvey | 224 |
| 4 | Shanahee Trevor | 2y D | G Byford | No form |
| 5 | Droopys Invasion | 1y D | C Gardiner | No form |
Gingers Layla arrives with three consecutive wins from her last four starts, most recently landing an A4 victory on 3 June with a lights-out display. Her recent trip to Clonmel shows a dog in absolute career form, and the move back to Hove A3 grade suits her profile. Form string 11131 tells the story: she found trouble early in January at Clonmel on faster ground but has since settled into a pattern of front-running success. Trainer P J Browne’s confidence in releasing her here is justified. Blueisthecolor has taken heavy knocks at A1 level recently and looks out of his depth, while Minstrels Six’s sprint form at 695m does not translate well to 500m flat racing. NAP: Gingers Layla, Trap 1. Look for forecast value pairing her with Minstrels Six in the exotics market if the latter finds improvement.
18:26 – Grade A2, 500m
Rebel Comet has posted two wins in three starts, including a narrow victory on 3 June where she dictated from trap 2 after a clean break. Her form string 123 across recent outings shows consistency and adaptability; she handled crowding at bend 3 and recovered to close on 28 May. At A2 grade and with a middle trap draw, she sits ideally placed to repeat that success. Shes High is a proven A1 and A2 winner but has slipped to 4224 form in her last five runs, suggesting fatigue or a loss of sharpness. Glenrock King, despite three placings at A1, has registered 5323 form and lacks the accelerative punch needed here. NAP: Rebel Comet, Trap 2. This is a strong backing opportunity in a wide-open betting heat.
19:26 – Grade A4, 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shes High | 2y B | C Gardiner | 424 |
| 2 | Rebel Comet | 2y B | R Rees | 123 |
| 3 | Glenrock King | 2y D | J Harvey | 335 |
| 4 | Brideside Belle | 2y B | P J Browne | No form |
| 6 | Playit Cool Trig | 2y D | P J Browne | No form |
Gretna delivered back-to-back wins at A4 and A5 grades in late May, with a 1311 form string showing excellent consistency from middle traps. Her most recent outing on 7 June from trap 4 saw her crowded early but refuse to panic, running on late for fourth. The move back to A4 grade is a perfect mark, and her pattern of middle-trap racing aligns well with Hove’s 500m characteristics. Ferndale Model’s recent 2443 run shows she remains competitive at A4 but lacks Gretna’s momentum. Yougo Jenny has drifted from A3 to A4 and her 4244 form line suggests she is struggling at the A3 ceiling. NAP: Gretna, Trap 3. Strong value in forecast markets where she can be paired with either Ferndale Model or Yougo Jenny for both placings.
21:06 – Grade A1, 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ferndale Model | 2y B | G Byford | 243 |
| 2 | Yougo Jenny | 3y B | S Cahill | 424 |
| 3 | Gretna | 3y B | D Knight | 413 |
| 4 | Whizzy Bloos | 1y D | P J Browne | No form |
| 6 | Mustang Maverick | 2y D | S Cahill | No form |
Droopys Delux is the standout selection on the card. Form string 11121 reads as near-perfect: won at A2 level on 7 June with a dominant mid-track run, then won again at A3 on 29 May by a shadow margin, storming through the middle. Her 2 June finish at A3 was a near-miss second by a neck, and her sole poor run came in an Open 3 field on 30 April where she clipped a dog at bend 1. Trainer C Gardiner has her primed for this step up, and at just 2 years old, Droopys Delux is hitting her peak. Tea For Me’s 6342 recent run is poor form for A1, and while she won her last A1 outing on 23 April, the intervening A1 and Open races show a dog under pressure. Ower Cracker lacks recent form data at A1 and his sole known run yielded a blank. NAP: Droopys Delux, Trap 3. This is a confident selection in a top-class field; she will command forecast backing.
Punters should monitor Starting Price movements from 17:00 onwards when Betfair and Bet365 odds stabilise. Forecast betting offers the best value on this card, particularly pairing recent form horses in the feature races. William Hill and SkyBet both offer competitive greyhound markets on Hove’s Saturday cards.
