Hove Greyhound Tips – Wednesday 27 May 2026
Brighton’s fast sand surface and tight bends create a demanding track where trap draw and early pace control are critical. With 12 races across the afternoon and evening, today’s card features four feature races at A1 and A2 grades over 500m, offering genuine competitive betting.
15:01 – Grade A2 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Join In | 3y B | S Cahill | 531 |
| 2 | Jess Again | 2y B | B Green | 162 |
| 3 | Deadly Ruben | 2y D | G Byford | 332 |
| 4 | Bonoandutoo | 3y D | B Green | No form |
| 5 | Fire Snow | 4y D | B Green | No form |
Jess Again (Trap 2, B Green) takes the standout form into this race. The 2-year-old bitch has won two of her last five outings and comes off a decisive victory at A3 level five days ago, where she quickened away by a full length. She showed early pace (QAw, released to middle) and led from trap 1 in that win. Dropping back to A2 and running from trap 2 suits her profile perfectly: she has won twice from trap 1 at A3 and showed consistent 2nd and 3rd placings at A2 from the same box earlier this month. Her recent 6th-place finish (17 May) came after being blocked and crowded at the 3-furlong marker, a traffic issue rather than lack of ability. Join In (Trap 1, S Cahill) is the danger, having won at A3 level on 1 May, but recent form shows a 5th place at A2 (14 May) after being cut off mid-race. Deadly Ruben (Trap 3, G Byford) has three 3rd placings in his last five runs at this grade from middle traps, but lacks a win since 23 April.
NAP: Jess Again, Trap 2. She combines recent winning form with a favourable trap position and fits the grade perfectly after her A3 victory.
15:19 – Grade A2 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Antigua Luigi | 3y D | J Heath | 242 |
| 2 | Yougo Jazz | 3y B | S Cahill | 514 |
| 3 | Razldazl Barkley | 4y D | R Holloway | 526 |
| 4 | Brideside Belle | 2y B | P J Browne | No form |
| 6 | Razldazl Royco | 3y D | R Holloway | No form |
Antigua Luigi (Trap 1, J Heath) is the form horse here. The 3-year-old has finished 2nd, 4th, 2nd, 5th, 3rd in his last five races at A2 and A1 level, with two of those runs from trap 1 producing a 2nd place (5 days ago) and a 3rd place (16 May). He was racing at A1 until recently and shows the consistency of a dog ready to break through. His latest effort (22 May, A2, trap 1, 2nd by 2.5 lengths) was solid and unlucky. Yougo Jazz (Trap 2, S Cahill) posted a stunning victory from trap 2 at A1 on 6 May, but has since disappointed with a 5th place at A1 (20 May), suggesting regression after that flash of form. Razldazl Barkley (Trap 3, R Holloway) shows a mixed record: two 5ths and a 6th in his last three races at A1, with a 2nd place on 1 May being his only positive recent finish.
NAP: Antigua Luigi, Trap 1. Consistency at this grade and trap position, plus recent narrow defeats, mark him as due a win.
16:16 – Grade A1 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rebel Charles | 2y D | R Rees | 243 |
| 2 | Dave Allthe Way | 2y D | B Green | 312 |
| 3 | Slick Mick | 2y D | G Byford | 315 |
| 4 | Blarney Roy | 3y D | R Rees | No form |
| 6 | Fastlane Blu | 2y D | P Donovan | No form |
Dave Allthe Way (Trap 2, B Green) edges this competitive A1 affair on current form. The 2-year-old won decisively at 500m from trap 2 on 2 May (by 1.5 lengths, QAw, released and led) and backed that with a 2nd place at A1 from trap 1 on 22 April. Five days ago at trap 2 again, he finished 3rd after being blocked at the first bend and crowded at the quarter, a traffic issue masking his ability. He has proven he can lead and hold on from trap 2 at this grade. Rebel Charles (Trap 1, R Rees) won at this track and grade on 27 March but has since produced three placings (3rd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd) without winning again. His latest 2nd place (20 May, trap 1, by 1.25 lengths) was respectable but not a strong form signal at A1. Slick Mick (Trap 3, G Byford) won at A2 (14 May, trap 3) but has struggled at A1 level: 3rd on 22 May, 5th on 9 May, 2nd on 2 May. Blarney Roy (Trap 4, R Rees) and Fastlane Blu (Trap 6, P Donovan) both lack recent form data and are unexposed at this grade.
NAP: Dave Allthe Way, Trap 2. His A1 win from this trap and recent form edges him ahead in a tight race, despite the recent 3rd place caused by early crowding.
16:53 – Grade A2 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reign Of Power | 2y D | S Cahill | 341 |
| 2 | Sly Wobblebottom | 3y D | S Maplesden | 524 |
| 3 | Jesse Gee James | 4y D | J Heath | 523 |
| 4 | Razor Gun | 3y D | P J Browne | No form |
| 6 | Senahel Pikachu | 4y D | S Cahill | No form |
Reign Of Power (Trap 1, S Cahill) continues to impress at this level. The 2-year-old won at A2 from trap 1 on 1 May (snapped up the lead and held on) and followed with a 2nd place from trap 1 at A2 on 22 April. His form is underpinned by a consistent willingness to lead and hold: he nearly won again on 20 May at A1 (trap 1, 3rd by one length) after leading into the 3-furlong marker before being reeled in. Trap 1 suits his racing pattern perfectly, and A2 is his natural grade. Sly Wobblebottom (Trap 2, S Maplesden) showed good form with a 2nd place at A2 from trap 1 on 9 May but has since crumbled with a 5th place (trap 2, 17 May) after early trouble and blocking at the 2-furlong mark, a concerning regression. Jesse Gee James (Trap 3, J Heath) won at A1 on 22 April (trap 3, snapped lead from middle) but has since produced three losing runs at A1, suggesting he may have found that grade too hot.
NAP: Reign Of Power, Trap 1. His winning record at A2 from trap 1 combined with recent A1 exposure makes him the class act here.
Meeting Overview
Today’s 12-race card at Hove spans A1 and A2 grades over 500m throughout. The fast sand surface will suit sharp, early-pace runners, and trap draw will carry real weight. All four feature races are competitive but not wide open: form lines are clear and recent run quality matters significantly.
Punters’ Note
Check starting prices 15 minutes before each race. Forecast and reverse forecast markets offer genuine value on these competitive A1-A2 cards where finishing order is unpredictable. Bet365, Betfair, SkyBet and William Hill all carry full Hove markets. On sand and over 500m, watch for slow-away comments (SAw) in the minutes before betting closes: a dog marked SAw is vulnerable, especially from inside traps where early pace battles can be decided.
