Kempton (AW) Tips: Thursday 30 April 2026
Kempton's Polytrack on a Standard To Slow surface tonight means pace will be at a premium and horses who can travel kindly through their races should have a natural advantage. Seven races on the card, with the novice and maiden contests offering some interesting angles for those willing to look past the market leaders. Let's get into it.

Selection: O'Gorman (11/8, Midnite)
Only one runner in this field of 12 has a meaningful RPR to their name on debut form, and that's O'Gorman. The Sergei Prokofiev colt ran at Yarmouth, finishing four lengths behind the winner but pulling three lengths clear of third. In a race like this, that form advantage over largely unexposed rivals is significant. George Scott's yard is running at a solid 3/13 in the last 14 days, which tells you the horses are fit and ready. At 11/8, this isn't a value play in the traditional sense, but it's the only logical anchor in a wide-open heat.
Anna Belardo is interesting at 9/2 with Bet365, having posted an RPR of 74 on debut despite finishing third. That's actually a higher figure than O'Gorman's 65, and Rossa Ryan is a quality booking. Keep an eye on her in the market.
Duidin at 12/1 catches the eye purely on the Oisin Murphy booking. The Spotlight notes Murphy has a good strike rate for John Butler's yard, and Murphy doesn't travel to Kempton for fun. Worth a small interest at those odds.

Selection: Tales Of Wisdom (11/4, Bet365)
This is the race of the night and the form on show deserves proper analysis. Tales Of Wisdom and Ray Mon Dough both carry RPRs of 94, but the manner of their victories differs considerably. Ray Mon Dough beat only three rivals at Lingfield, stringing them out impressively, while the Godolphin colt Tales Of Wisdom put eleven lengths between himself and the runner-up at Southwell. That winning margin is extraordinary, even accounting for the quality of opposition at that venue.
The key concern with Tales Of Wisdom has been his tendency to take a strong hold early. The yard has addressed that directly by fitting a hood today. Charlie Appleby's team don't make those decisions lightly, and if the hood settles him, seven furlongs on Polytrack should play perfectly to his strengths. The 3/22 trainer form for Appleby in the last fortnight is moderate, but this horse's raw ability puts him in a different bracket.
Ray Mon Dough at 7/4 with Bet365 is a perfectly fair favourite, and Oliver Cole's prospect clearly has ability. But at the prices, Tales Of Wisdom represents better value with an obvious positive switch.
Langstone merits a mention at 7/1 with William Hill. Clive Cox's gelding scrambled home at Doncaster, but the fact he managed to win while looking difficult to ride suggests there's more to come when he relaxes. Cox's yard is cold right now at 0/12, though.

Selection: Rajwaah Each-Way (12/1, Bet365)
Archie Watson's yard is firing at 6/21 over the last 14 days, which is a strong number. Rajwaah ran at Kempton over seven furlongs on debut, finished sixth of seven, but the Spotlight specifically notes she appeared to need that run and comes from a good family with clear improvement expected. Horses who debut badly over a sharp seven furlongs and step up to a mile on this surface regularly improve markedly, and Watson is the kind of trainer who places horses with intent.
The form pick is Merry at 7/1, who has placed twice in 7f races at Kempton and Southwell. The extra furlong is a question on pedigree, but James Horton has her form rock solid. She sets only an ordinary standard, as the Spotlight concedes, so she's not impossible to beat.
Rajwaah at 12/1 each-way with three places on offer represents a proper each-way play in a 12-runner maiden. Watson firing, a horse who clearly needed debut experience, and now a step up in trip on a surface she's already met. Premier Cru with the hood applied at 14/1 is another live each-way option for Fanshawe, who is also in form at 5/20.

Odds: 11/4 โ Bet365 (others: 5/2 William Hill, 3.6 Betfair Exchange)
An eleven-length winning margin at Southwell tells you this Godolphin colt is in a different class to most rivals in this field. The tendency to take a strong hold early was the only real concern, and Appleby has directly addressed that with a hood today. If he settles on the Kempton Polytrack, this race is his. Seven furlongs suits, Standard To Slow is fine for an AW horse of this profile, and 11/4 is a fair price for what could be a very good horse who has barely got started.
