Kempton (AW) Tips: Wednesday 10 June 2026
A mid-week Kempton card under light rain with Standard To Slow going on the Polytrack. Three races worth playing, with a strong Gosden angle in the sprint handicap and a Frankel filly who sets the standard in the 1m3f maiden. The going suits those who handle cut in the surface. Let’s get into it.
5:40 Unibet EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (7f)
This is a mixed bunch of newcomers and one-run fillies, and the market will tell the real story on the night. That said, two horses stand out before the off.
Guadalevin (11/4 Boyle Sports) is the obvious form pick. She debuted at Southwell off a 9/4 price, sat handy and finished a close third. That form is modest on paper but she was well backed and ran like a filly who will step forward. Seven furlongs at Kempton is a straightforward upgrade from Southwell’s 7f Tapeta, and Charlie Fellowes has had two winners from 19 runners in the past fortnight, suggesting the yard is ticking over.
Agent Rose Each-Way (12/1 Boyle Sports) is a 90,000 guineas breeze-up purchase and a half-sister to five winners, two of whom showed solid ability over distances from 7f upwards. The Spotlight specifically flags trainer Stuart Williams at 20% with AW two-year-olds over the last five seasons, which is a strong number. The market check suggestion in the notes is worth watching. At 12/1 with three places paid at 1/5, there is clear each-way appeal if she moves in the betting.
Pequenita (2/1 Betfred) is the market leader and has the dam line to be interesting. Her mother was a Group 2 winner in France, closely related to a 1m6f Group 3 scorer. Oisin Murphy rides and he posts 18% at Kempton on the all-weather. Andrew Balding’s note simply says “should be capable of a good showing on debut” which is faint praise. At 2/1 you need more certainty than a debut with a middle-distance pedigree over seven furlongs.
Selection: Guadalevin at 11/4. Has a run under her belt, was supported first time, and comes here with something to build on.
6:10 Unibet/EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (1m3f)
Tribal Queen (9/4 Boyle Sports) is the clear pick. She is a Frankel half-sister to Listed-placed winners and debuted at Haydock on soft ground in May, where she was slowly away before getting into stride and finishing within three lengths of the winner. That experience matters on the all-weather, where getting organised quickly off the gate is key. She learns fast by the sound of that run, and Haydock over 1m2f on soft was a tougher ask than this 1m3f trip on Polytrack.
Charlie Appleby leads all trainers at Kempton with a 32% strike rate from 576 runners. William Buick pairs up with him and posts 22% course wins. These two together at Kempton on the all-weather is as strong a combination as British flat racing offers. The 9/4 is fair rather than generous, but the race sets up well for her.
Danseuse (5/1 Boyle Sports) for Callum Rodriguez and the Simon and Ed Crisford yard is worth noting. Rodriguez is running at 19% at Kempton with an A/E of 1.29, which is the best of any jockey in the course data. Crisford is at 19% course wins too. Danseuse debuted at Newcastle over 12.5f on Tapeta and finished two lengths third off a 3/1 price, showing plenty of promise. She is a legitimate each-way option at 5/1 if you want cover, but Tribal Queen should have her measure.
Gypsy Jazz Queen (7/1 Boyle Sports) is a Ralph Beckett newcomer whose dam won at Kempton, and Beckett is at 18% for the course. The Spotlight calls her “an interesting newcomer.” She is worth a small interest at 7/1 each-way in a race where the favourite is still 9/4 on debut form.
Selection: Tribal Queen at 9/4. Appleby and Buick on the all-weather, a racecourse education already banked, and a step up in trip that suits her staying pedigree.
7:10 Unibet Handicap (London Sprint Series Qualifier, Div I) (6f)
The sprint handicap is the most competitive race of the night, but there is a clear angle here.
Siren Suit (11/2 Boyle Sports) has a profile that reads well for tonight. John and Thady Gosden send this three-year-old back to Kempton, where he won a 7f maiden last October. He was a close third at Ascot the previous April, matched at the line with Angel Of Anfield who also lines up here. His two runs this season have been heavy defeats, seven months apart, which suggests he was freshened up rather than raced into form. He drops in class, returns to the surface he won on, and crucially Toby Moore’s 7lb claim brings him into a realistic weight range. Moore posts 18% at Kempton with two wins from eleven rides here.
Marengo Storm (9/4 Boyle Sports) is the market leader and deserves respect. He won a C&D maiden last month, then ran second at Windsor in his handicap debut. The Spotlight notes the third from that Windsor race has won since, which franks the form. William Buick takes the ride, and Buick at 22% course wins speaks for itself. But 9/4 is a short price in a 10-runner handicap where the draw, pace bias and going all come into play.
Angel Of Anfield Each-Way (9/1 Boyle Sports) is well worth an each-way interest. He returns to 6f, drops in class, is clearly suited to the all-weather surface, and has a close second over C&D in October on his nursery debut. Tom Clover’s 14-day stats are cold but the horse’s record speaks for itself. At 9/1 with three places paid, the each-way return is solid.
Selection: Siren Suit at 11/2. Back on the surface where he won, 7lb claim in hand, returning to form under Gosden, and a price that offers genuine value against the market leader.
Today’s NAP
Odds: 9/4 โ Boyle Sports (others: 9/4 Betfred, 2/1 LiveScore Bet)
A Frankel filly trained by Charlie Appleby, ridden by William Buick, returning to the all-weather after a promising debut on soft at Haydock where she was green early and still finished within three lengths. That learning curve counts for everything on Polytrack. Appleby strikes at 32% at Kempton, Buick at 22%, and the step up to 1m3f suits a staying pedigree perfectly. The opposition includes live entries but nothing that clearly beats her on form or trainer/jockey firepower.
