Five runners, and the form figures make this a genuinely open affair despite Res Ipsa being sent off around 11/10. The comment data is clear: the ratings pitch Res Ipsa fourth in the field on figures, and at that price there is no margin for error.

Straight Up at 2/1 is the call. Aidan O’Brien’s yard has five wins from 33 runners in the last 14 days, and Straight Up has already won on this campaign over today’s mile trip. A 64-day break is a legitimate flag, but O’Brien’s string typically returns in good order, Wayne Lordan takes the ride, and the ratings mark him as second-best in the race.
