The going is unconfirmed, so flexibility matters, but the form angles are clear enough across all three races. Joseph Patrick O’Brien’s yard is the stat that jumps off the page: 17 winners from 51 runners in the last 14 days is a yard operating at peak efficiency, and they saddle runners in two of the three featured contests. That kind of strike rate doesn’t happen by accident.

7:00 — Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes (Listed, 1m)

Twelve fillies, a Listed prize, and a genuine puzzle. Meriden’s four-race winning streak grabs the eye on paper, but the figures rate her well below her official mark of 97, which is a significant concern at this level. The selection here is someone with a stronger profile on the data.

Green Carrera (9/4, Boyle Sports and Betfred) is the pick. Dylan Browne McMonagle takes the ride for Joseph Patrick O’Brien, and that combination alone demands respect this week. Green Carrera has won two on the bounce and three of her last five, the form going in the right direction at the right time. She has the mile in her locker and comes from a yard recording a 33% strike rate over the past fortnight. That level of stable form in a Listed race is not something to underestimate. At 9/4 she is not a generous price, but the profile justifies it.

The each-way alternative at a bigger number is Pivotal Attack Each-Way (12/1, Boyle Sports and Betfred). She tops the speed figures by some margin, which is a substantial edge in a race where several rivals have questions to answer. The eighth last time out is the obvious query, and 52 days off the track adds a layer of doubt, but if Gary Carroll can slot her into a rhythm she could outrun that big price into the places at minimum.

Sinmara at 16/1 is also worth a small each-way interest. Ranked third on figures, from the same red-hot O’Brien yard, and with a strong speed figure on her CV. The 52-day break mirrors Pivotal Attack’s concern, but at that price, the place terms offer genuine value.

6:00 — Irish EBF Median Sires Series Race (1m, 2yo)

Six runners, two debutants, and a short-priced A.P. O’Brien runner who has been fourth twice without getting his head in front. The race sets up nicely for something to outrun its odds.

Venetian Power Each-Way (8/1, Boyle Sports and Betfred) is the selection. Dylan Browne McMonagle is aboard again, the Joseph Patrick O’Brien yard is firing on all cylinders, and crucially, Venetian Power tops the figures in this race. He was fourth on debut, which leaves plenty of improvement to come, and returning over the same mile trip he has already encountered is a positive. The favourite South Dakota has been fourth twice and shown no sign of breaking through. At 2/5, backing him to finally convert requires a leap of faith the price doesn’t reward. Venetian Power at 8/1, from the form yard of the week, with the best figures in the race, is a much more compelling proposition each-way.

Celtic Moon at 14/1 also catches the eye. Won last time, second on figures, and comes back quickly in good order. The modest speed figure is flagged, but at that price a small each-way interest is defensible if you want to cover the race.

6:30 — Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden (1m, 3yo)

A ten-runner maiden with some interesting profiles. Kalir for Dermot Weld has been consistent without winning, posting three, four, three, four, four in a sequence that suggests he is good enough to place but hasn’t quite found the right opportunity. Elusive Path for G.M. Lyons has a third and second to his name and Colin Keane takes the ride, which always commands attention.

Elusive Path Each-Way (4/1, Betfred and LiveScore Bet) is the selection. A placed effort at three and two suggests a colt who knows his job. Lyons has sent out five winners from 23 runners in the last fortnight, a 22% strike rate that keeps the yard firmly on the radar. Colin Keane’s Killarney record shows 18% wins from 288 rides with a positive A/E profile, and he is seldom wasted on no-hopers. The market has him at 4/1 in a ten-runner maiden, which looks workable each-way with three places on offer at 1/5 odds.

Cello Sonata at 11/4 to 5/2 is the likely favourite, with McMonagle in the plate, but one run and a fifth place leaves the form thin. Elusive Path’s consistency offers more to go on.
