More crucially, she drew Trap 3 on that winning run and posted a quick away, settling clear from the third bend. Trap 3 at Kinsley over 462m carries a 33 per cent win strike from the last seven days – the most favourable draw on the card. Her most recent outing (7 June, Trap 3, A4) saw her run fourth by just 1.75 lengths after leading to the third bend, suggesting she remains sharp and competitive. Swift Remi (Trap 2) has finished second twice in recent A4 runs but lacks the conviction of Penny’s form. Lundhill Ellie (Trap 1) has drifted in recent weeks from A3 to A4 and shows inconsistency, with a string of poor finishes suggesting she is struggling at this level.

Russanda Lexi is the class act in this A5 race. She finished runner-up on 22 May by just half a length and has posted three placings in four runs. Her one concern is trap draw: she runs best from Traps 3 and 4, and today she draws Trap 3, which historically carries a lower win percentage (15 per cent of wins over 462m in the last seven days). However, her class and recent form trump any trap disadvantage. Step Junior (Trap 1) has a win at A6 level but last time out (4 June, handicap, Trap 5) finished sixth after being forced to check at the first bend – a setback for a dog who needs a clear run. Crystal Zeus (Trap 2) is a young dog with just two outing records, both at sprint distance (268m), making him unexposed at this 462m trip and grade.

Cotswold Milady is the pick here. The two-year-old bitch trained by M May has shown consistent upward form, with two wins in her last five runs at A5 and A6 levels. Most tellingly, she has won twice from Trap 3 (29 May and 25 May) – both decisive efforts with early pace, settling clear from the third bend. She drew Trap 3 again on 8 June and finished third by just 2.5 lengths, suggesting she remains in strong form. Trap 3 is the strongest draw at Kinsley for 462m (33 per cent strike rate), amplifying her chances. Ballymac Pria (Trap 1) has won once this season but shows poor recent form, finishing fourth twice and sixth twice in her last four outings. Deecee Smile (Trap 2) has raced exclusively at sprint distance (268m) with mixed results; she is unexposed at this 462m grade and distance.

NAP: Cotswold Milady, Trap 3. Strong trap draw coupled with proven recent form makes her the standout value on the card.

Glenhead Sydney presents the best opportunity in this A6 contest. The three-year-old dog trained by I Zivkovic has finished second twice in his last three outings at A6 level, showing genuine consistency and competitive edge. Most recently (7 June, A6, Trap 2) he ran second by just three-quarters of a length; on 15 May he also finished second at this grade and track. He shows an ability to get competitive late, with running-on form codes (EvCh). Trap 3 today suits his profile – Trap 3 carries the strongest win percentage (33 per cent) at this track and trip. Urgent Call (Trap 1) is three-year-old but inconsistent, finishing 3rd, 5th, 2nd, 6th and 2nd; she is struggling to find form in A6 races. Tomahurra Winter (Trap 2) has a second place at A6 but four other finishes show middling form and lacks Sydney’s recent consistency.

NAP: Glenhead Sydney, Trap 3. A dog with proven place form and the strongest trap draw offers genuine value; forecast combinations with Urgent Call provide an attractive second runner.
