Leicester, Saturday 13 June 2026: Tips & Preview
A seven-race card at Leicester on good to soft ground, partly cloudy overhead and a track that should ride close to true. The going suits horses with a bit of class rather than out-and-out speedsters, and on a card dominated by juvenile maidens, pedigree and yard form are doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Richard Hannon has 11 winners from 53 runners in the last 14 days, James Fanshawe is firing at 27% from his last 22 and Hugo Palmer has solid Leicester numbers at 15% course win rate. Those are the yards to follow tonight.
Silvestre De Sousa and Jack Mitchell are the jockeys to note. De Sousa wins at 21% at this track with an A/E of 1.11, and Mitchell is even sharper at 20% with an A/E of 1.34. When either of them has a live booking, take notice.

Selection: Duke Of Burgundy at 5/2 (Betfred / LiveScore Bet)
Richard Hannon is in scorching form across the board and this colt carries a booking from Joe Leavy, who is increasingly trusted by the yard. Seven furlongs on good to soft suits a Hannon-trained juvenile to a tee, the yard rarely runs these without homework done, and 5/2 is a workable price in a maiden where several runners have no form at all. Akaraka is an intriguing Michael Bell debutant at 3/1 and could easily upset, but the Hannon yard’s current momentum tips the balance. Bin Waary gets De Sousa in the saddle and the 11/4 is understandable given that combination, but the form figures of 43 suggest he is still learning.
Duke Of Burgundy, 5/2, Betfred. Hannon form, suitable trip, good to soft no issue.

Selection: Time Saxon Warrior Each-Way at 3/1 (Boyle Sports / Betfred / LiveScore Bet)
Regal Chita is the 15/8 market leader and has De Sousa up, which always demands respect on this track. But two runs returning figures of 33 on a horse that has been beaten twice already means the market is asking you to take a short price about a horse yet to win. James Owen’s A/E at Leicester is only 0.94, which tempers enthusiasm slightly.
Time Saxon Warrior at 3/1 is the more interesting proposition. Richard Hughes has two winners from 28 runners in the last 14 days, which is modest, but Jack Mitchell in the saddle changes the picture. Mitchell’s A/E at Leicester of 1.34 is the standout jockey stat on the entire card. The form figures of 43 show this colt is progressing and seven furlongs on a soft-edged surface gives him every chance to go one better. Confernation (7/2, Hugo Palmer) is a third realistic contender with a yard that knows this track, but at the prices, Time Saxon Warrior with Mitchell aboard is the each-way angle.
Time Saxon Warrior, 3/1, all firms. Each-way at 3 places, 1/5 odds.
7:00 โ WM Installations Ltd Maiden Stakes (1m, 3yo)
Selection: Electric Dreams at 3/1 (Boyle Sports / Betfred)
Lucky Camino is the Evens favourite and trained by Hugo Palmer, who has that solid 15% Leicester course record. Two runner-up finishes (form 22) suggest a horse that is consistent and professional, and at Evens the market clearly agrees. The question is whether you want to take Evens about a horse that keeps getting beaten.
James Fanshawe at 27% from his last 22 runners is the hottest trainer stat on tonight’s card, and Electric Dreams gets Daniel Muscutt, a rider Fanshawe trusts for bigger targets. The form of 47 looks modest at first glance, but Fanshawe horses often improve markedly with experience and the step to a mile on good to soft could be the trigger. Fanshawe’s A/E at Leicester of 1.03 underlines that his runners here run to price and beyond. At 3/1 against Evens, this is the value play.
El Nay (15/8, Richard Hannon) is the third player. Four runs, best effort a second, consistent at 2323 but again priced as though the win is already happening. Hannon’s yard stats are strong but that price is too short for a horse that has placed four times without winning.
Electric Dreams, 3/1, Boyle Sports / Betfred. Fanshawe firing, step to a mile, value over the favourite.
Today’s NAP
Odds: 3/1 โ Boyle Sports (others: 3/1 Betfred, 11/4 LiveScore Bet)
James Fanshawe is the best-performing trainer on the card over the last 14 days at 27% strike rate, and his A/E of 1.03 at Leicester confirms his runners run their races here. Electric Dreams has experience on the clock and gets Daniel Muscutt, a rider Fanshawe turns to when he means business. The mile on good to soft is the right conditions for a Fanshawe three-year-old stepping forward, and at 3/1 against an odds-on favourite that keeps finishing second, this is where the value sits tonight.
