Leopardstown Sunday Tips: May 10, 2026
Good ground at Leopardstown on a Sunday afternoon with three Pattern and Listed races on the card. Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle yard is firing at 14/37 over the last fortnight, which makes their runners impossible to ignore. The Cashel Palace Derby Trial is the headline act, and there is a fascinating angle around the form reversal at the top of the market. Here is where the value lies.
2:30 โ Al Shira’aa Racing “Mutamakina” Stakes (Group 3, 7f)
Selection: City Of Memphis โ 11/8 Boyle Sports, 5/4 Betfred, 5/4 LiveScore Bet
Pat Twomey’s yard is running hot, 6/11 over the last 14 days, and City Of Memphis showed exactly why she is in this field when bolting up at Gowran after a lengthy absence. That was over this trip, which matters. She ran green and keen in the Irish 1,000 Guineas behind Lake Victoria last year but still finished fifth in a Group 1, which puts the form well above what she faces today. The good ground suits, the trip suits, and the trainer is in form. She is a short price but she is a short price for good reason.
The bigger each-way case here belongs to Carla Ridge Each-Way at 4/1 with Boyle Sports. The Eddie and Patrick Harty filly ended last season with a ten-length demolition job in a Listed race at the Curragh over 6f, a performance that stamped her as something out of the ordinary. Stepping up to 7f, she should be perfectly suited. Her form is tied to smart horses and the jump into Group 3 company is a logical one. Three places paid at 1/5 the odds and at 4/1 she represents solid each-way value to underpin the win bet on City Of Memphis.
3:05 โ Porsche Amethyst Stakes (Listed, 1m)
Selection: Catalina Delcarpio โ 3/1 Boyle Sports, 3/1 Betfred, 3/1 LiveScore Bet
The Twomey yard appears twice in this article for good reason. Catalina Delcarpio is a filly with a serious form profile: placed in a Navan Group 3 and placed as 2/1 favourite in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. She flopped on seasonal return at the Curragh but the ground was soft-to-heavy, and everything about her form profile suggests she wants decent footing. Today’s good ground changes the picture. She drops back from 1m2f to a flat mile, which looked like a concern on paper, but she won her Leopardstown debut over 1m2f and has shown she handles this track. The Twomey yard at 6/11 over a fortnight is an angle you cannot ignore when they turn up at Leopardstown with a filly of this quality.
Keep an eye on Tokenomics at 10/1. He was 2.5 lengths fourth in this very track’s Listed Heritage Stakes last month without a clear run, finishing ahead of several horses in today’s field. David Marnane’s yard is quiet but the horse is improving and good ground suits. At double-figure odds he is a legitimate each-way dart if you want to spread risk.
3:40 โ Cashel Palace Hotel Derby Trial Stakes (Group 3, 1m2f)
Selection: Endorsement โ 3/1 Boyle Sports, 3/1 Betfred, 3/1 LiveScore Bet
This is the race of the day and the angle is straightforward: back the horse who is actually in form, not the one who needs to rebuild his reputation. Pierre Bonnard is a high-class colt, there is no argument about that. His Zetland Stakes and Saint-Cloud victories were genuine performances. But the Ballysax four weeks ago was a tame flop, and at 4/5, punters are being asked to forgive that without any evidence of recovery. That is a leap of faith at odds-on.
Endorsement, by contrast, did everything right in the Ballysax. He ran his race, stuck to his task, and finished in front as Pierre Bonnard flopped behind him. Before that, he chased home the Derby favourite Benvenuto Cellini on debut at the Curragh. This colt has been consistently honest at a level that justifies his presence in this field without any sympathy discount. At 3/1 he is the same price as a horse rated 6 pounds lower on RPR than Pierre Bonnard, but this is not a race for ratings, it is a race for form, and Endorsement’s form is current and live. Aidan O’Brien runs Straight Up as the obvious pacemaker, which should set up a proper finish. Endorsement stays and gallops. The good ground suits the whole field but nobody here has a stronger recent run to point to.
Shaihaan at 4/1 with Boyle Sports is the each-way alternative. Donnacha O’Brien’s colt beat two subsequent winners on his seasonal comeback at the Curragh in April and his form ties back to Pierre Bonnard from juvenile days. He is more mature now and not out of place here at all.
Today’s NAP
Odds: 3/1 โ Boyle Sports (others: 3/1 Betfred, 3/1 LiveScore Bet)
The Twomey yard is operating at over 54% in the last 14 days, the form credentials are Group 2-level, and the ground switch from soft-to-heavy back to good resolves the one question mark hanging over her seasonal return. A filly placed at Royal Ascot showing up in a Listed race at Leopardstown on going that suits is not a horse to oppose at 3/1. This is the bet of the day.
