This is where the card gets interesting. Royal Acclamation represents Charlie Appleby, and if you follow Appleby’s Lingfield stats you already know why this deserves serious attention. The yard wins at 32% at this course, a strike rate that is among the very best in training, and over the past 14 days Appleby has fired in 13 winners from just 27 runners. That is a yard firing on all cylinders right now.

Connor Planas takes the ride. Royal Acclamation is a 2-year-old Appleby colt stepping onto an all-weather mile for the first time, which is precisely the profile Godolphin routinely schools up through with quiet confidence. The price is 9/4 with Boyle Sports, drifting to 15/8 at LiveScore Bet. Take the 9/4.

One Number is the market leader at 10/11 for Joseph Patrick O’Brien, and the form reading 2-0-3-5 is not exactly compelling. Third on debut is fine but it has gone a little flat since. With Appleby’s numbers at Lingfield what they are, I am happy to oppose the jolly here.
