A seven-race card at Lingfield on good to firm ground. The going suits sharp, well-balanced horses and you will find the biggest angles here are trainer form, course suitability, and horses who have already shown they handle these conditions. Three races stand out for punters wanting a proper look-in.

5:05 – Professional Horse Racing Tips At Chracingclub.com Handicap Stakes (1m2f)

Five runners, but this small field has a clear shape to it. Epictetus catches the eye at 6/1 (Boyle Sports, Betfred). He ran second last time out and his profile is genuinely competitive here: distance experience, today’s going suits, a rating of 91 puts him right in contention, and Jamie Osborne’s yard is ticking over at two wins from 13 in the past fortnight. Six starts without a win is the caveat, but he has finished placed repeatedly and the handicapper has not slammed the door on him.

The short-priced favourite Bintknight needs respect, but a speed rating of 75 is underwhelming at 5/4 and the value simply is not there at that price. Starlight Time with Roger Varian firing at 42% in the last 14 days is intriguing, but consecutive eighths are hard to forgive off just 84. Epictetus at double figures on Betfred/LiveScore Bet comparisons to the favourite is the play.

6:15 – Pilgrims Sales & Lettings Handicap Stakes (2m½f)

Naval Command is a non-runner, so we go to the remaining three, and this race sets up nicely for Campeona at 4/6 (Betfred). Sir Mark Prescott firing at 30% over the past fortnight is a number worth sitting up for. Prescott at Lingfield carries a 19% course strike rate with a respectable A/E of 0.95, which tells you he targets the right races. Campeona arrives on the back of back-to-back wins, returns just nine days after her last run, which is classic Prescott timing, and a three-year-old filly stepping into a small field at a flat track suits her profile perfectly.

The query on our figures showing a rating of 67 against the top-rated rival is worth noting, but with Naval Command gone, the competitive edge thins. Laravie is consistent and James Owen is red-hot at 36% over the past fortnight, so a saver each way on her at 4/1 (Betfred) is not foolish. But Campeona is the confident pick.

7:15 – Drainex Group Nursery Handicap Stakes (6f)

Knock Three Times is the standout selection in this seven-runner nursery handicap. She arrives on the back of a win last time out, placed in two of the three starts prior to that, and has experience of today’s trip and good to firm conditions. A 17-day break is ideal, she travels with confidence, and Jamie Osborne’s yard continues to deliver at two wins from 13 recently.

The value in the race, though, belongs to Miss Moneypit Each-Way at 9/2 (Boyle Sports, Betfred). Rod Millman is running hot at eight wins from 19 in the past fortnight, which is a 42% strike rate. Miss Moneypit won last time out, handles today’s distance and going, and comes back quickly on a 10-day turnaround, which the yard clearly fancies. At 9/2 in a seven-runner nursery with two places on offer, this is proper each-way territory at a generous price.

Seed Ya Later has the figures but drifted in her last two. Rogue Imperial and Laylaty rank at the foot of the assessments and can be left out.
