James Bowen rides and his Market Rasen A/E of 1.16 is a positive, but the form figure of U (unseated) is a flag and Mickey Bowen’s yard is 0/2 in the last 14 days. Brosna Town at 13/2 has shown some ability in five starts and is worth noting for each-way purposes.

A four-runner field and a straight fight between the two market leaders. Loriko at 4/6 is the jolly and Dan Skelton’s record at this track speaks for itself: 22% strike rate, Harry Skelton in the saddle at 24% here. The Skelton operation is a machine and you understand why punters side with them reflexively.

The case for Eternal Angel at evens is simple: the form reads 5-1213 and there is genuine ability there. Jonathan Burke takes the ride and he hits 19% at Market Rasen with an A/E of 1.05, suggesting he squeezes value from his mounts rather than losing it. Tom Lacey’s yard sits at 21% at this track with an impressive A/E of 1.04, the best of any trainer in our course data. You are getting a horse with a win and multiple placed efforts, ridden by a jockey who performs to expectation here, trained by a handler who genuinely knows this track.

Loriko is legitimate opposition and this is not a race to go big on, but at level money against a 4/6 shot in a small field, Eternal Angel offers the value. Destination Unknown and Mayo are irrelevant at the prices.

The spotlight data on My Friend Sean is the clearest steer on the card. Rated 111 by the assessors and described as the one to beat, this horse shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up last time despite a five-start winless run. The 31-day break is not a concern given he has proven fitness and the comment confirms he has run over today’s trip and going. Jonathan Burke is again on board, and his Market Rasen numbers hold up.

Tom Lacey’s yard returns to the course after a quiet 14-day spell but his overall Market Rasen record of 21% with an A/E of 1.04 carries real weight. This is not a trainer who sends horses here to fill numbers.

Ghasham at 3/1 is the market rival to respect. He won three starts back and was third two starts back, but 161lbs and a V (void or refused) in the recent form creates enough doubt at a short price. Gower Prince at 13/2 is interesting as a consistent front-runner who has placed twice recently, and the lighter weight of 146lbs on Miss Denver and 142lbs on Genbu give both of those an obvious chance on ratings, though neither profile screams winner.
