Monmore Greyhound Tips – Thursday, 14 May 2026

Monmore Green hosts a 12-race card on Thursday evening, kicking off at 18:14 with the final race scheduled for 21:23. This popular West Midlands venue serves up a varied programme across the night, with feature races at sprint and staying distances.

18:14 – Grade OR 480m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Anglesey Milo 2y D N Hunt 551
2 Holding Blaze 1y D R Taberner 232
3 Charlie Loves Me 2y D J Mullins 623
4 Holding Aero 1y D R Taberner No form
5 Forgottotellya 2y D M Wallis No form
6 Onceina Lifetime 2y D K Billingham-Hine No form

An Open race at Monmore’s bread-and-butter distance. Anglesey Milo arrives in strong recent form, having won decisively at this track and grade on 23 April. The two-year-old dog showed excellent early pace that day, leading from the break and holding rivals at the line by two and a half lengths. Since then he has run in fifth place in his last two starts, both from less favourable trap positions. Tonight he draws in Trap 1, which sits outside the favoured Trap 3 window on this 480m course (Trap 3 shows 25% win rate over recent data). However, Anglesey Milo’s proven ability at OR grade and his clean getaway on 23 April suggest he remains the standout runner here.

Holding Blaze has three consecutive podium finishes, including a narrow second from Trap 1 last week. The one-year-old has shown early pace and adaptation across three different Monmore trips, though he will need to replicate that form from an unfamiliar Trap 2 position. Charlie Loves Me has travelled widely and shows recent form across Romford, Hove and Towcester at OR3 grade, but returns to Monmore tonight from Trap 3 (the statistically optimal trap for this distance) after a sixth-place defeat over 575m at Romford. The remaining runners, Holding Aero, Forgottotellya and Onceina Lifetime, lack recent form data and present higher risk on an Open card.

NAP: Anglesey Milo, Trap 1. The dog combines proven form at this track and grade with a decisive recent win, and should be capable of repeating that winning effort despite a sub-optimal trap draw.

18:31 – Grade OR3 480m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Cashin Lee 1y D K Billingham-Hine No form
2 Magical Hawk 1y D M Burton 1
3 Aero Razorwind 1y D R Taberner 243
4 Whyaye Mister 1y D N Hunt No form
5 Droopys Fearless 1y D M Burton No form
6 Baggios Belter 1y B F Bryce No form

A competitive OR3 field with limited recent data across most runners. Aero Razorwind stands out with the clearest form profile: a one-year-old trained by R Taberner who ran second at A3 grade from Trap 4 just ten days ago, losing by only half a length. The dog has also shown ability at OR grade (fourth place on 30 April) and D2 sprint grade (third on 25 April). Critically, Aero Razorwind draws in Trap 3 tonight, which again aligns with the 25% win-rate advantage for this distance at Monmore. The recent close-run second at A3 suggests immediate readiness for this step back.

Magical Hawk has just one recorded run since late March, a win from Trap 5 over 480m at Tralee at ON2 grade in early form. The one-year-old offers some hope but lacks domestic form threads on this card. Cashin Lee, Whyaye Mister, Droopys Fearless and Baggios Belter all carry no recent form data and represent lottery entries at OR3 level.

NAP: Aero Razorwind, Trap 3. The dog lands in the statistically strongest trap position for 480m at Monmore, brings a recent A3 second and confirmed OR experience, and is clearly in winning form.

Meeting Overview

Monmore’s 12-race card spans OR and OR3 company at 480m, plus a 264m sprint feature and a 630m staying race. The sprint will favour trap bias toward Trap 5 (41% win rate over recent 264m data), while the longer trip should reward dogs with proven stamina credentials. No hurdle or puppy races appear on tonight’s card.

Punters’ Note

Check starting prices 20 to 30 minutes before each race, as Monmore’s odds firm quickly on the evening card. Betfair and Bet365 remain the strongest bookmakers for greyhound racing depth. Forecast markets offer solid value on open races, particularly when identifying the likely front-runner and chaser across the first two bends.
