Monmore Greyhound Tips – Saturday 16 May 2026
Monmore Green in Wolverhampton hosts a full 24-race card on Saturday with the first race at 11:03 and evening action peaking at 21:50, offering punters a varied West Midlands fixture across multiple grades.
21:34 – Grade A2, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Joes Luck | 2y D | K Billingham-Hine | 445 |
| 2 | Aero Advocate | 2y D | R Taberner | 336 |
| 3 | Swift Youngster | 3y D | A Jenkins | -123 |
| 4 | Get In Line | 2y B | K Billingham-Hine | No form |
| 6 | Longacres Ariel | 2y B | P Doocey | No form |
Swift Youngster stands out as the strongest runner on recent form. The three-year-old won at A2 level at Monmore on 11 April (1 by a neck from trap 4) and has since produced two solid efforts at staying distance, including a narrow second at OR3 level on 7 May by just 2 lengths. Return to the 480m trip is a positive, and trap 3 carries an excellent 25 per cent strike rate at this distance over the last week. Swift Youngster showed middle-ground racing and the ability to lead from the bell, which suits the track bias perfectly.
Aero Advocate (trap 2) offers a secondary option with back-to-back A2 thirds including a very close finishing effort on 6 May, but Advocate has missed the break once recently (23 April) and lacks the pristine record of the NAP.
Joes Luck (trap 1) has struggled to trouble the places in five recent outings and stays at 480m despite a string of fifth-place finishes. NAP: Swift Youngster, Trap 3.
19:34 – Grade A3, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Heres Buddy | 3y D | C Jones | 421 |
| 2 | Caldera Flow | 2y D | D J Page | 322 |
| 3 | Shake The Bottle | 2y B | J B Thompson | 113 |
| 4 | Good Bobcat | 2y D | A Jenkins | No form |
| 5 | Common Canter | 2y D | J B Thompson | No form |
| 6 | Thru The Roof | 3y D | K Billingham-Hine | No form |
Shake The Bottle emerges as the clear standout here. The two-year-old bitch won at A5 level just last week on 9 May (by 2 lengths from trap 3) and boasts an exceptional Dundalk record with three wins from four runs, most recently a facile success on 20 February. She showed middle-ground racing style and the ability to lead from the first bend. At Monmore, trap 3 commands the best strike rate at 25 per cent, and this dog has proven adaptability across tracks.
Caldera Flow (trap 2) has solid A3 form with two seconds and a third from recent Monmore outings, but has been caught out by faster fields at this grade. Heres Buddy shows recent sprint form and a recent A2 second, but the 11 March fall at Dunstall Park and a distance stumble on 28 March counsel caution. NAP: Shake The Bottle, Trap 3.
21:14 – Grade A3, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Patoka | 2y D | J B Thompson | 414 |
| 2 | Away Jazz | 4y D | K Billingham-Hine | 314 |
| 3 | Longacres Miss | 1y B | P Doocey | -12-1 |
| 4 | Datona Vamoose | 2y B | D J Page | No form |
| 6 | Carmac Pete | 3y D | N Hunt | No form |
Patoka represents exceptional value here. The two-year-old notched a narrow A4 win on 29 April at this exact venue from trap 1 and has been campaigned consistently at grades A3 and A4 over recent weeks. Form comments show he breaks well and runs on the rails, hitting the line strongly, and his 4 April win came by just 1.25 lengths at the tighter A4 level. Recent outings show minor placings just outside the frame; improvement on that 29 April victory is inevitable at this slightly softer grade.
Away Jazz (trap 2) won at A4 on 18 April but has posted three fourth-place finishes since and shows less consistent tape. Longacres Miss (trap 3) is age 1 with steward interventions logged, which marks limited experience and unpredictability. NAP: Patoka, Trap 1.
13:31 – Grade A4, 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pappys Jiver | 2y B | G A Griffiths | 432 |
| 2 | Aero Euphoria | 1y B | R Taberner | 511 |
| 3 | Kingoftheroad | 2y D | J Walton | 444 |
| 4 | Longacres Key | 1y B | P Doocey | No form |
| 6 | Definitely Gone | 2y D | A Jenkins | No form |
Aero Euphoria delivers the strongest case despite modest trap draw. This one-year-old bitch won at both A5 and A6 level recently (25 April and 14 April respectively) and has shown the speed to lead before the quarter bend. Recent A4 form shows a fifth-place finish on 6 May, but that run saw forced checkups and running-up pressure which muddied the picture. Two wins in three runs across grades A5-A6 signals genuine upward trajectory, and Monmore form on the rails has proven successful for this engine.
Kingoftheroad (trap 3) won at A4 on 21 April by just three-quarters of a length and has the middle-ground trap advantage (25 per cent strike rate), but recent fourth-place finishes suggest plateauing form. Pappys Jiver (trap 1) broke well but produced only a single win at A5 level on 24 March. NAP: Aero Euphoria, Trap 2.

Punters’ Note
Check starting prices from 15 minutes pre-race; Betfair, Bet365, SkyBet and William Hill all carry competitive greyhound markets. Forecast and reverse forecast betting offer strong value across these A-grade contests, particularly where trap draw plays a significant role. Monmore’s 480m track favours trap 3 consistently; build multiples around middle-trap selections where possible.
