Monmore Greyhound Tips – Thursday 18 June 2026
Monmore Green hosts a 12-race card this evening with first race at 18:14. This West Midlands venue serves up a mixed programme with two feature races at 480m and 630m respectively, offering solid betting opportunities across the card.
18:14 – Grade IV 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Demon Hunter | 1y B | T Heilbron | 126 |
| 2 | Coonough Laura | 1y B | M Wallis | 121 |
| 3 | Gav Nificent | 1y D | P Young | 232 |
| 4 | Annadown Warrior | 1y D | M Locke | No form |
| 5 | Jazzy Duke | 1y D | K Hutton | No form |
| 6 | Whyaye Mister | 1y D | N Hunt | No form |
Demon Hunter arrives in excellent form after winning at Newcastle on 4 June by 2.25 lengths at A3 level. The son of B sex trained by T Heilbron shows a recent record of 12241, with his last two runs at A3 480m producing a win and a narrow second. He meets Grade IV opposition here and should find this easier. Coonough Laura has been flying: a recent Open race win at Monmore (11 June) and an A4 victory at Shelbourne Park on 21 April give her credentials, but her trap draw (2) doesn’t align with Monmore’s current bias data. Trap 3 holds the strongest advantage on the 480m trip at this track (25% strike rate over the last 60 days), and Demon Hunter’s most recent Newcastle runs were from trap 2 and 3, so he should break cleanly from his inside draw in trap 1. The form is there, the grade suits, and he looks the play here.
NAP: Demon Hunter, Trap 1.
18:31 – Grade OR 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Holding Hollie | 1y B | R Taberner | 122 |
| 2 | Newinn Jolly | 1y D | K Billingham-Hine | 213 |
| 3 | Countess Penny | 1y B | R Taberner | 562 |
| 4 | Magical Hawk | 1y D | M Burton | No form |
| 5 | Droopys Fearless | 1y D | M Burton | No form |
| 6 | Aero Galactica | 1y D | R Taberner | No form |
Holding Hollie has been impressive at this level. Two recent Monmore wins in OR3 company (11 June at 4.00 odds and 21 May at 2.75) plus a narrow second on 4 June show she is in sharp form. Her form string reads 12121, and she’s proven at Monmore on both the 480m and sprint distances. R Taberner’s filly has trapped from 1 in both recent Monmore wins and clearly benefits from an early gate. She faces a competitive field here including Newinn Jolly (two recent OR3 wins at Monmore) and Countess Penny (also an OR3 regular), but Holding Hollie’s consistency and track familiarity stand out. From trap 1, she can use her quick away to establish position early.
NAP: Holding Hollie, Trap 1.
18:48 – Grade IV 480m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Venetian Jojo | 2y B | K Hutton | 323 |
| 2 | Sams Magic | 2y B | N Hunt | 214 |
| 3 | Copney Queen | 2y B | P Young | -122 |
| 4 | Headford Lily | 2y B | M Locke | No form |
| 5 | Newinn Tonic | 2y B | M Wallis | No form |
| 6 | Toddys Storm | 2y B | T Heilbron | No form |
Copney Queen steps down from Open company where she’s recorded three wins in her last five races, including victories at Sheffield on 19 April (1.57 odds, by 7.5 lengths) and 12 April (1.62 odds, by 5 lengths). Her most recent Towcester outing (17 May, OR) saw her finish second at 1.62 odds by just 1.75 lengths, showing she remains competitive. Form reads 12121 with one steward’s exclusion. She’ll find Grade IV a softer touch. Sams Magic and Venetian Jojo are both respectable OR-grade runners, but Copney Queen’s recent explosive form at Open level makes her the standout. Trap 3 aligns with Monmore’s 480m bias (25%), and P Young’s charge has shown she can run from middle draws based on her Sheffield victories.
NAP: Copney Queen, Trap 3.
19:06 – Grade OR 630m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Droopys Maximus | 3y D | R Taberner | 441 |
| 2 | Carrick Scholsey | 2y D | M Burton | 111 |
| 3 | Champys Girl | 3y B | K Billingham-Hine | 54-1 |
| 4 | Aero Boris | 3y D | R Taberner | No form |
| 5 | Inca Lewie | 3y D | N Hunt | No form |
| 6 | Venetian Mick | 2y D | K Hutton | No form |
Carrick Scholsey is the clear standout here. M Burton’s dual 630m winner at Monmore (11 June at 1.50 odds and 14 May at 1.29 odds) also claimed an impressive 684m victory on 21 May at similar short odds (1.29). His form reads 11111 across all five recent runs, including back-to-back Monmore 630m wins. He’s proven over the distance, proven at the track, and in sensational recent form. The only slight concern is his trap draw (2) at an unfamiliar staying distance, but his recent wins from trap 1 at this track suggest he breaks fast and leads from the front. Droopys Maximus won here on 21 May (OR 630m) but his recent form has faltered with a 4th place on 11 June. Carrick Scholsey is the standout bet in this feature.
NAP: Carrick Scholsey, Trap 2.
Meeting Overview
The 12-race card spans a mix of Grade IV, OR, and A-graded races across the 480m and 630m trips. Staying-race enthusiasts will find value in the 19:06 feature, whilst sprint punters have multiple opportunities across the earlier races. Monmore’s track data shows a clear trap 3 bias on the 480m flat, worth monitoring for middle-draw runners.
Punters’ Note
Check SP prices with Betfair, Bet365, SkyBet, or William Hill about 20 minutes before each race when odds firm up. Greyhound forecast markets (selecting the first two finishers in order) and reverse forecasts offer value on six-runner fields, particularly in competitive OR races. With four feature races and a full card, monitor the early races for form clues ahead of the evening features at 19:06.
