Swift Youngster has been more consistent, recording three finishes in the placings across his last four races, including a second on 1 June over 480m and a head second on 16 May, both from Trap 3. His form string reads 32323, showing steady mid-placed finishes with a couple of near-misses. Kilwest Diva presents longer-trip credentials, with two solid efforts over 630m in May, but a recent fifth at 480m on 4 June and currently limited to the 480m distance here.

19:14 – Grade A3 480m

Pappys Jiver is in outstanding form, recording two wins from her last three starts: victories on 1 June and 23 May, both from Trap 1 over 480m in A3 and A4 grades respectively. Her form string ends 11, and she brings quick-away and rails credentials into this race. Zenith Quincy won an A3 from Trap 2 on 9 May but has shown less consistency since, with a 3rd and a 4th in recent A2 and A3 runs. Aero Razorwind, at only one year old, is relatively unexposed at A3 level, though he did run second in this grade on 11 June from Trap 3, showing he can mix it.

20:34 – Grade A3 480m

Sugar King is the standout runner here, arriving with four consecutive wins across A4, A6, A7, and A9 grades, most recently beating the field by 2.75 lengths on 16 June from Trap 3. His form string is 11111, representing perfect recent form. He has run from multiple traps and won from Trap 2 and Trap 3 recently, proving adaptable. Aero Brooke, trained by R Taberner, has two recent wins (10 and 6 June) but from lower grades (A4 and A5), stepping up to A3 for the first time here. Patoka is a drop-down candidate with a single A3 win on 23 May but has posted multiple fifth placings recently.

Sugar King’s run of four successive wins, including a 16 June victory just days before this race, makes him the clear selection despite the A3 upgrade. NAP: Sugar King, Trap 3. He has won from this trap recently, his four-timer is exceptional current form, and Trap 3 remains the track’s strongest draw at 25%.
