Sevilla sit 18th with 34 points, four behind Osasuna in 10th, and they're showing all the signs of a side that has given up on the fight. Four defeats in their last five, 11 goals conceded across that run, and they limped to a 0-2 loss at Levante just two days ago. Luรญs Garcรญa's squad arrives at Estadio El Sadar on tired legs with bruised confidence, and Osasuna are a genuinely awkward team to face at home.
Alessio Lisci's side are not setting the world alight either. Two draws and two defeats in their last four before beating Girona 1-0 tells you they're inconsistent, but that home record is something to lean on: eight wins, five draws, and just two losses in front of their own fans this season. At 39 points, they're comfortable in mid-table. There's no pressure on them here. That psychological edge matters.
Sevilla's Form Is Genuinely Alarming
Let's be blunt about what Sevilla are right now. The 2-1 home win over Atlรฉtico Madrid is the only bright spot in a five-game stretch that reads L-W-L-L-L, with four goals scored and eleven conceded. They lost 2-5 at Barcelona, 0-2 at Valencia at home, 0-1 at Oviedo in the cup, and now another away defeat at Levante. That Levante loss is fresh, played just 48 hours before this kick-off. There is no realistic turnaround in that timeframe.
Their top scorer, A. Adams with eight goals this season, will need to be at his best, but Sevilla's away record is dismal: four wins in sixteen attempts on the road. Meanwhile, Ruben Vargas, who has contributed three goals and five assists in 18 appearances, is listed as missing this fixture, which removes one of their more productive attacking threats at exactly the wrong moment.
Osasuna lose Iker Benito, Abel Bretones, and M. Gomez, but none of those absences should derail a side built on defensive organisation. Andoni Budimir has 16 goals in 31 league appearances this season and is the kind of striker who punishes a porous backline, and Sevilla's backline has been porous for months.
