Back-to-back runner-up finishes in his last two starts, experience over five furlongs on good-to-firm, and he carries the lightest weight in the field at 122 lb. Winless recently, yes, but he is knocking loudly and this looks the right spot to go one better.

Democracy Dilemma (Robert Cowell / Tom Eaves, 10/11 Boyle Sports and Betfred) has the highest rating and stall one is ideal in a five-furlong sprint. The trainer is cold but the horse’s rating of 102 puts him well clear of rivals. If you need a banker for a Lucky 15 or accumulator, he is your man at 10/11. The trainer’s recent stats are the only thing stopping this being a totally confident selection.
