Sheffield Greyhound Tips – Friday 12 June 2026
Sheffield hosts a 12-race card on Friday evening, with the first race at 18:18 and the final race at 21:58. This northern venue carries a strong reputation for quality staying form, and the sand surface produces consistent racing throughout the card.
18:38 – Grade A6 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Droopys Mars | 1y B | S Naylor | 243 |
| 2 | Jess Blue | 2y B | S C Oxley | 542 |
| 3 | Autumn Lydia | 1y B | T D Coote | 231 |
| 4 | Knock Zaya | 1y B | T D Coote | No form |
| 5 | Caremone Lady | 5y B | P Sanderson | No form |
| 6 | Brushbrushtaptap | 1y B | P Prior | No form |
This A6 heat features Droopys Mars in Trap 1, a young bitch trained by S Naylor with solid recent form. The dog has finished in the places in four of her last five starts at Sheffield, including a second by 2 lengths at this grade on 10 May when holding form from the lead. On 6 June, Droopys Mars led for the first quarter before fading to second, which suggests she has the early pace to control from Trap 1. Trap 1 holds 22 percent strike rate over the last 60 days at this distance, and with recent evidence of front-running success at grade, she represents a strong play.
Autumn Lydia in Trap 3 is another contender after winning at A7 on 26 May by a length from middle draw. She has contested A6 twice recently and placed both times, most recently second by 2.5 lengths on 6 June. However, form shows she is more effective when running clear rather than crowded, and grade is tightening.
NAP: Droopys Mars, Trap 1.
19:18 – Grade A3 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | No Small Talk | 3y D | E Parker | 253 |
| 2 | Calgray Deva | 3y B | E Parker | 142 |
| 3 | Mr Handsome | 3y D | S Naylor | 234 |
| 4 | Crystal Buster | 3y D | T D Coote | No form |
| 5 | Bathams Big Toe | 2y D | A Upton | No form |
| 6 | Headford Madame | 3y B | R Draper | No form |
Calgray Deva comes here in excellent form for trainer E Parker. The bitch won most recently on 4 June at A3 by 4.25 lengths, leading from trap and dominating the race. Prior to that, she won at A4 on 1 May by 2.5 lengths with a quick away and leading run. Form shows she likes leading early and has the pace to control. Moving from Trap 2 to wherever drawn, she is the most consistent runner in the field with three wins in her last five starts. Two of those wins came at this exact grade.
No Small Talk, also trained by E Parker in Trap 1, finished second to Calgray Deva just four days ago by a neck at A3, holding form through the race. The dog has two seconds in five recent starts and appears capable but second best to stablemate Deva.
Mr Handsome in Trap 3 ran second on 6 June by 1.5 lengths at A3, showing recent form at grade. However, he has longer gaps in racing history and limited consistency at top level.
NAP: Calgray Deva, Trap 2.
19:58 – Grade A4 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clear Jade | 2y B | R Draper | 526 |
| 2 | Headford Mapel | 1y D | R Draper | 411 |
| 3 | Lowgate Jack | 2y D | J Hayton | 212 |
| 4 | Jolly Arlo | 3y D | J Andrews | No form |
| 5 | Dance Lovee | 1y B | T D Coote | No form |
| 6 | Ten Ton Simba | 3y D | G Rees | No form |
Headford Mapel is a young dog with outstanding recent form for trainer R Draper, winning three of his last four races. Most impressively, he won at this exact grade (HP) on 29 May by 3.5 lengths and again on 10 May by 3.25 lengths. Only four days ago, he finished fourth at HP 500m after bumping at start, suggesting he is competitive at this level. The winning runs show leading early and controlling, which is a strong formula at A4. He should be shorter in the market than warranted by form.
Lowgate Jack, trained by J Hayton in Trap 3, has impressive recent A4 form with two wins in four starts. He won on 29 May by a length and finished second twice, with narrow margins. He is a strong challenger but Headford Mapel’s more recent dominant wins edge him.
Clear Jade has older form and shows several bumped runs in early race, which is concerning at A4 level where pace is sharp.
NAP: Headford Mapel, Trap 2.
21:58 – Grade A5 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Thats Mikeys | 2y D | P Webster | 253 |
| 2 | Millroad Dynamo | 2y D | T D Coote | 331 |
| 3 | Lightfoot Dream | 3y B | A Upton | 624 |
| 4 | Olwinn Sheeran | 1y B | T Bedford | No form |
| 5 | Catunda Echo | 3y B | D T Gomersall | No form |
Millroad Dynamo, a young dog trained by T D Coote, won at A5 on 24 May by just half a length from leading position, with clear run noted. He followed that by finishing third at higher grade (HP) on 30 May, showing he is competitive beyond A5. Form over the last six weeks shows one win, three places, demonstrating consistency. On 9 May, he finished second at A6 by 1.75 lengths, confirming capability across grades.
Thats Mikeys finished second on 4 June at A5 by 0.75 lengths, running handy throughout, but has fewer wins in his record and greater consistency variability. Lightfoot Dream showed a poor recent run at higher grade (HP) on 5 June with bumping at start, and whilst she has placed at A5, the recent form is weaker.
NAP: Millroad Dynamo, Trap 2.
Sheffield offers competitive racing across all grades on Friday. The card features races from A3 (top quality) through to A6 entry level, all at the standard 500m trip which suits the sand surface here. Trap 1 holds a notable 22 percent advantage at this distance over recent weeks, so monitor draw placement carefully when prices firm up.
Check starting prices around 30 minutes before your chosen race time. Betfair, Bet365, SkyBet and William Hill all carry full greyhound markets for Sheffield. Forecast betting is popular for 6-runner fields, and each-way play is worth exploring in wider fields where third-place finishing odds are generous.
