Sheffield Greyhound Tips – 21 June 2026
Sheffield hosts 12 races on Sunday with a first-race time of 14:29. This sand-track venue is renowned as one of the North’s premier stayers’ arenas, with two feature races providing strong betting opportunities across the card.
14:29 – Grade IV, 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | No Better Feelin | 3y D | E Driver | 236 |
| 2 | Slippy Keith | 3y D | R Draper | 632 |
| 3 | Five Ofa Kind | 2y D | T Heilbron | 114 |
| 4 | Newinn Jolie | 2y B | M Locke | No form |
| 5 | Catunda Ciaran | 4y D | S Naylor | No form |
| 6 | Romeo On Point | 2y D | K Hodson | No form |
Five Ofa Kind has made an immediate impression at this level and beyond. The two-year-old won impressively at Sheffield last time out (14 June, Trap 3, won by a shade) with early pace and holding on under pressure. Prior to that, victories came at Sunderland and a form line over 450m distances shows genuine quality. Five Ofa Kind looks comfortably the best-prepared runner here and has shown he can handle the Grade IV company with ease.
Trap 3 carries a 22 per cent win strike rate at 500m over the last 60 days at Sheffield, making it a balanced draw. Five Ofa Kind’s recent win came from Trap 3 at this track, and the dog’s ability to lead early and hold on (evident in the shadehead victory margin) suggests he will be hard to catch. Slippy Keith showed a recent win from Trap 4 (17 May) but has form issues since, including a bumped-into-first-bend run and a sixth-place finish. No Better Feelin is capable but took third at Towcester most recently and has a mixed record here.
NAP: Five Ofa Kind, Trap 3. Forecast backers should consider a strong pairing between Five Ofa Kind and any of the front-running types in this field.
14:48 – Grade IV, 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shirehill Mona | 1y B | K Hodson | 363 |
| 2 | Unanimous Leo | 2y D | T Heilbron | 564 |
| 3 | Inca Connect | 3y D | R Draper | 324 |
| 4 | Farneys Tilly | 1y B | K Boon | No form |
| 5 | Saqqara | 2y B | K Windebank | No form |
Inca Connect has built impressive form at Sheffield and holds genuine Forecast market value. The three-year-old won at A3 grade (10 May, Trap 4, beaten just 3 and a quarter lengths) and has since fought back into contention with a clear-run third at A2 level (11 June). Most importantly, Inca Connect has form lines here across multiple outings and understands this track’s demands over 500m.
Shirehill Mona is the other live contender with early-season wins at Tralee and a recent third-place finish here (14 June) with a clean run. However, a sixth-place finish on 7 June with bumping and stumbling through the second bend raises concerns. Inca Connect’s consistency here and upward trajectory make the selection clear. Trap 4 sits at 19 per cent win strike rate at 500m, which is moderate, but the dog’s track form overrides draw considerations.
NAP: Inca Connect, Trap 3. Look for each-way value in reverse forecast markets pairing Inca Connect with Shirehill Mona.
15:07 – Grade IV, 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clan Na Gael | 1y D | K Hodson | 541 |
| 2 | Newline Ray | 1y D | R Draper | 11 |
| 3 | Drumdoit Pixie | 2y B | L Stephenson | 222 |
| 4 | Walls Partner | 1y D | K Hodson | No form |
| 5 | Beatties Lena | 2y B | K Billingham-Hine | No form |
| 6 | Newinn Rex | 1y D | J Walton | No form |
Newline Ray stands out as the most recent winner with an impressive two-race sequence. The one-year-old won at A3 level (5 June, Trap 1, beating a dog by four and a half lengths) with a strong lead from the off. One race prior (11 June), Newline Ray won at A2 grade from Trap 1 with a lead established by bend three. These victories over higher grades signal a dog ready to dominate this Grade IV field.
Drumdoit Pixie showed a 280m win recently but is primarily a sprinter. The form edges suggest Pixie prefers shorter distances and may struggle over 500m. Clan Na Gael has mixed form with a win at Waterford (7 May) but more recently recorded fourth and fifth placings at this track with bumping issues. Trap 2 carries a 20 per cent strike rate at 500m, neutral on this tight sand circuit.
NAP: Newline Ray, Trap 2. Newline Ray’s recent A-grade wins represent a significant edge over this Grade IV opposition.
15:26 – Grade OR3, 280m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sunnyside Jayden | 2y D | E Soppitt | 121 |
| 2 | Drumdoit Ali | 1y D | L Stephenson | 235 |
| 4 | Scooby Matilda | 2y B | C Weatherall | 211 |
| 5 | Born Racer | 3y D | C Weatherall | No form |
| 6 | Epic Command | 2y D | J Davy | No form |
Sunnyside Jayden is a sprint specialist with electric recent form. The two-year-old won decisively last time out (14 June, Trap 3, Sheffield OR3 280m, beaten just one and three-quarter lengths at odds of 1.25) with quick away and early lead throughout. Prior victories at Sunderland and Star Pelaw over 245-261m show this dog thrives at sprint distance.
Scooby Matilda won at Nottingham (1 June) and Sheffield (7 June) but Sunnyside Jayden’s 1.25 odds in the last outing and clean winning margin suggest the stronger candidate. Trap 4 is exceptionally strong at 280m with a 27 per cent strike rate at Sheffield over the last 60 days, and Scooby Matilda benefits from this draw. However, Sunnyside Jayden’s raw form edge and track-specific consistency tip the scales.
NAP: Sunnyside Jayden, Trap 1. In this 280m race, forecast markets offer value for a Sunnyside Jayden/Scooby Matilda combination.
Meeting Overview
Sheffield’s Sunday card spans Grade IV throughout the middle of the meeting, with an OR3 sprint feature at 15:26. The 500m standard trip dominates the first three feature races on a sand track that rewards front-runners and early-established leads. Trap 1 shows notable strength at 500m (22 per cent), whilst Trap 4 commands sprint races at 280m (27 per cent). Punters should monitor SP prices in the 20 minutes before each race, as prices firm considerably at this established track.
Punters’ Note
Greyhound odds at Sheffield settle close to race time through major bookmakers including Betfair, Bet365, SkyBet, and William Hill. Six-runner fields limit each-way value, but forecast and reverse forecast markets offer genuine edge opportunities on these tips. Check SP roughly 15 minutes before first race (14:29) for best value confirmation. Sheffield’s consistent six-trap fields and sand surface make form analysis highly reliable across the card.
