Towcester Greyhound Tips – Friday, 15 May 2026
Towcester hosts a 12-race card on Friday afternoon, kicking off at 14:23 across its sand surface. This Northamptonshire venue is known for its stayers’ card, and the feature races sit at 500m, a trip that rewards dogs with proven stamina and consistent form.
14:41 – Grade A6 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fabulous Electra | 4y B | L Tuffin | 321 |
| 2 | Last Race Toni | 2y B | A Welch | 521 |
| 3 | Da Fox | 3y D | N J Deas | 611 |
| 4 | Amka Bruce | 2y D | D Jeans | No form |
| 5 | Coolemore Poppy | 2y B | J Liles | No form |
| 6 | Hitthelids Kaley | 3y B | N J Deas | No form |
Last Race Toni stands out as the obvious choice here. The 2-year-old bitch has won twice at this grade in recent weeks (23 April and 2 April), both times from Trap 2, and shows the early pace to dictate terms from the start. Her most recent run on 6 May saw her finish fifth in an A5, but that was off Trap 2 again and she met trouble, crowding and cordoning through the third and fourth bends. Strip that back and her record at A6 is 1-2-1 across five runs. From Trap 2, she benefits from a clean break into the first bend without the inside congestion risk. The 500m trip plays to her strengths, and she has won this exact grade from this exact trap twice. Last Race Toni should set the pace and prove hard to catch.
Da Fox offers each-way appeal if you’re looking at forecast markets. He has won three of his last five at A6 and A7, including a shadow victory on 16 April, and showed fighting spirit to surge late in that contest. However, inconsistency and a recent heavy defeat (21 April, 15+ lengths) make him a second-string choice.
NAP: Last Race Toni, Trap 2.
15:19 – Grade A4 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Unlikely Barry | 3y D | S Gaughan | 115 |
| 2 | Dunbolg Sharon | 1y B | H Dimmock | 244 |
| 3 | Vonder Express | 2y D | Derrick Atkins | 424 |
| 4 | Gladys All Over | 3y B | H Dimmock | No form |
| 6 | Hitthelids Paulo | 2y D | N J Deas | No form |
Unlikely Barry is the form horse in this field. The 3-year-old dog has won three of his last five races, including a dominant 4.75-length success on 8 May from Trap 2 at A5, and a 2-length victory over 712m at Towcester on 25 April. He demonstrated his class with a victory at Oxford Open (650m) on 28 March and runs consistently at A4 level. His only blemish in recent form is a fifth-place finish on 19 April, where he ran a clear race but could not find the spark. From Trap 1 at Towcester, he faces a favourable trap bias: trap 1 records 21 per cent win rate over the last 60 days at 500m, the joint-best on the card. Unlikely Barry’s versatility across trip and grade, combined with recent winning form and a strong trap draw, makes him the standout pick.
Vonder Express chased hard for second on 17 April and has shown some promise in Open company, but his last three runs have yielded only one minor place across 500m and 460m races, and he lacks the consistency of Unlikely Barry.
NAP: Unlikely Barry, Trap 1.
16:53 – Grade A7 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Freyas Tiger | 1y B | D Porter | 346 |
| 2 | Confey Blaze | 4y B | D Porter | 326 |
| 3 | Falls Of Dochart | 3y D | N J Deas | 636 |
| 4 | Choices Peridot | 3y D | J Liles | No form |
| 5 | Dairyland Jimmy | 1y D | R Baker | No form |
| 6 | Salacres Paige | 4y B | P Harnden | No form |
Confey Blaze, despite her age of 4 years, brings the most reliable form to this lower grade. She has finished second twice at A7 in her last four runs (25 April and 11 April), and earned a win at D5 (270m) just last week on 7 April, suggesting she is sharp and races fit. Her barrier trial on 7 April saw her dominate from the front after an early nudge, and she led into the fourth bend before running in. From Trap 2, she can establish an early advantage and use her experience to hold off younger rivals. While A7 is a competitive grade with unproven form, Confey Blaze’s recent consistency and comfort from Trap 2 make her a reliable proposition in forecast markets.
Freyas Tiger, the 1-year-old, shows racing experience but has not yet registered a win at A7, finishing third and fourth in her last two attempts at the grade. Limited data on stablemates Choices Peridot and Dairyland Jimmy make them risky bets.
NAP: Confey Blaze, Trap 2.
17:31 – Grade A2 500m
| Trap | Dog | Age | Trainer | Last 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Salacres Tipster | 3y D | P Harnden | 242 |
| 2 | Fabulous Eva | 2y B | L Tuffin | 421 |
| 3 | Raparee Yulia | 2y B | D Porter | 223 |
| 4 | Salacres Slick | 3y D | P Harnden | No form |
| 5 | Saleen Dubh | 2y D | Derrick Atkins | No form |
| 6 | Jazzy Ace | 2y D | H Dimmock | No form |
Salacres Tipster is the selection in this competitive A2 decider. The 3-year-old dog has shown excellent form at this track and grade, recording two second-place finishes in his last three outings (8 May and 26 April) and a victory on 16 April from Trap 1 at A3. His consistency is marked by three top-two finishes in five runs, and he clearly has the engines to stay at A2 level. From Trap 1, he lands in the strongest trap draw on the card, with a 21 per cent win rate over 60 days. His recent near-misses show he is mixing with the right company and needs only a clean race to break through. The combination of proven form, experience at A2, and a commanding trap advantage makes Salacres Tipster the stand-out NAP.
Raparee Yulia, a 2-year-old bitch, has compiled an impressive record with two wins at A3 and consecutive runner-up finishes at A2 (9 May and 1 May), but she runs from Trap 3, where the win rate drops to 18 per cent. Fabulous Eva showed class with an Open victory on 26 April but is less consistent at A2 level.
NAP: Salacres Tipster, Trap 1.
Meeting Overview
The 12-race card spans grades from A2 through A7 at 500m, typical of Towcester’s stamina-focused programming. Early races lean towards lower grades (A6, A7), with the feature A2 contest closing the card at 17:31. No sprint or hurdle races feature on the day, so punters should focus on mid-range trap draws and dogs with proven staying power.
