Towcester Greyhound Tips – 21 June 2026

Towcester’s sand surface plays host to a full 12-race card on Sunday afternoon, with the track’s stayers pedigree on display across a balanced programme of A-grade races.

14:36 – Grade A4 500m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Unlikely Barry 3y D S Gaughan 522
2 Savana Perama 3y D P Tsirigotis 342
3 Westwind Ron 2y D A Ioannou 655
4 Freeway Zac 3y D N Linnell No form
6 Be More Ruthless 2y D H Dimmock No form

The opening race sees a competitive A4 field where recent form and trap draw bias will prove decisive. Unlikely Barry arrives with a strong recent record: second at this grade four times in the last month, most recently by just a head on 22 May. That consistency is valuable in a graded handicap. However, he’s drawn in Trap 1 tonight, and whilst Trap 1 shows a 21% win rate at Towcester over 500m (above average), Barry’s form has come from Traps 1 and 2, and he tends to do his best work from a middle position before staying on. Savana Perama, drawn Trap 2, offers an alternative: he’s posted three placings in five recent runs at A3 – A4 level, including a second by 1.25 lengths on 23 May. The middle trap suits his running style (Mid-Rls in his notes), and he’s consistent at the grade.

NAP: Unlikely Barry, Trap 1. His recent sequence of near-misses at A4 suggests a win is overdue, and he handles both the distance and the track well.

15:32 – Grade A3 500m

1 Salacres Boris 2y D P Harnden 6-11
2 Laughil Emma 2y B J Gornall 434
3 Romeo Echo 2y D R Turney 242
4 Gladys All Over 4y B H Dimmock No form
5 Frankton Daisy 3y B C Weatherall No form

Laughil Emma catches the eye here despite being drawn Trap 2. The two-year-old bitch has won at B2 – B3 level (including a sharp A3 entry on 23 May at 5.50 odds), and her most recent A3 outing on 14 June saw her finish fourth in an Open race where she was caught early. Back in A3 territory and with Trap 2 affording a clean break, she should relish the step back down. Romeo Echo, from Trap 3, is another danger: he’s racked up three placed finishes in four recent runs, including a head second over 500m on 23 May. However, his recent form has been stronger at staying distances (two S2 races at 712m), suggesting he may find the sharp 500m trip less to his liking tonight.

NAP: Laughil Emma, Trap 2. She’s shown the form to win at this grade and benefits from a cleaner trap draw than her last A3 run.

17:43 – Grade A2 500m

1 Salacres Awyr 2y B P Harnden 152
2 Baby Warrior 3y B C Weatherall 665
3 Jazzy Design 2y D K Hutton 641
4 Dreamin Francis 3y B K Hutton No form
5 Blitz Hurricane 3y B J Gornall No form

The feature race of the afternoon is a high-quality A2 clash. Salacres Awyr, drawn Trap 1, remains the form horse after an impressive victory on 3 June by 2.75 lengths at the same distance and grade. That win came from Trap 1, where he ran hard on the rails and led from the third bend. His form string reads 12211 over the past month: two wins and three seconds across A2 and OR races. Towcester suits him, Trap 1 enjoys the 21% win rate mentioned above, and he’s proven at 500m. The only minor query is whether three placings in five runs before his last victory might herald a dip, but his June effort was convincing.

Jazzy Design, Trap 3, is younger and less exposed at A2 level. She won a close affair at OR2 on 24 May and posted a mid-range A-grade fourth recently, but her form is less consistent than Awyr’s. Baby Warrior (Trap 2) has mixed fortunes at this grade: one win on 10 April but two sixes and a fifth in recent Open races, suggesting the drop to A2 is well-timed, yet he’s shown form issues of late (carding and crowding notes prevalent).

NAP: Salacres Awyr, Trap 1. His proven A2 form, track familiarity, and trap advantage make him the standout selection in a competitive heat.

18:02 – Grade A5 500m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Savana Kommeno 3y D P Tsirigotis 364
2 Fabulous Miley 1y B L Tuffin 241
3 Fabulous Jura 2y B L Tuffin 115
4 Salacres Prodigy 3y D P Harnden No form
5 Harlequin Toast 1y B L Pruhs No form
6 Chelms Jacob 4y D P Harnden No form

The closing race is a lower-grade affair where Fabulous Jura emerges as the pick. This two-year-old has posted two wins in her last three runs: victories by 1.75 lengths on 13 June and by half a length on 5 June, both at A6 level. She’s primed to step up to A5 and her recent form trajectory is upward. Drawn Trap 3 (middle position), she’s able to exploit her middle-running style, and her latest runs suggest she’s fast-improving. Savana Kommeno, from Trap 1, has won at this grade but his form is erratic (three finishes from four recent tries include a last-place effort on 3 June), and he may not have the consistency needed here. Fabulous Miley is younger still and unexposed at A5; her one A5 run saw her finish fourth.

NAP: Fabulous Jura, Trap 3. Dual recent winner showing strong form and upward trajectory at a lower grade, ideally placed in the middle trap.

Meeting Overview

Towcester’s 12-race card spans A1 through A5 grades, with a solid spread of 500m distances dominating. The stayers’ track character is well-represented, and trap bias data shows Trap 1 leading at 21% win rate over the past 21 days, offsetting the inside congestion risk on tighter circuits. Punters should watch for each-way and forecast opportunities in the lower-grade races where form lines are less predictable.

Punters’ Note

Starting prices firm up 20 minutes before each race at Towcester. Bet365, Betfair, SkyBet, and William Hill all offer solid greyhound markets. Forecast and reverse forecast bets are especially valuable on this card, particularly in the A4 – A5 races where volatility opens up overlay opportunities. Check the SP markets close to race time for best value on the NAP selections above.
