Tramore, Tuesday 7 July 2026: Racing Tips
A seven-race card at Tramore on good ground, and while this is firmly in the realm of everyday handicap racing rather than anything glamorous, there are genuine angles to pick apart across the card. The going suits most of the principals in each race, and a few trainers are worth following closely tonight.
6:30 โ Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap (1m4f)
Selection: Kashel Spring Each-Way at 8/1 (Boyle Sports, Betfred, LiveScore Bet)
The favourite Marmeladova is handled by K J Condon, whose Tramore record reads 15% winners with an A/E of 1.05, so the yard does operate here at fair clip. The problem is Condon has gone 0/7 in the last 14 days, and W J Lee on board cannot paper over a yard that is clearly not firing right now.
Daboya with Colin Keane is the second market mover, but a form line reading 5-0551 at 11/8 is short enough for a horse that has finished fifth or lower in the majority of her starts.
Kashel Spring at 8/1 makes the most appeal. Denis Gerard Hogan has two separate jockey bookings on the card, and it is the Kashel Spring booking that catches the eye, with the 4yo filly showing a recent form line of 81414, that most recent figure being a fourth place keeping her competitive. The step back to seven runners with only two places on offer means each-way punters should be selective, but at 8/1 with a 1/4 place return, the win is the primary appeal here. A lightly framed filly on good ground at a track that suits progressive handicappers, and Hogan’s stable companion Justenzia was running 3/18 recently, suggesting the yard is not completely cold.
7:00 โ Tote Tramore Derby Handicap 0-60 (1m4f, 13 runners)
Selection: Churchwarden Each-Way at 9/1 (Boyle Sports, Betfred, LiveScore Bet)
This is the race of the night for value hunters. Thirteen runners, four places at 1/5 odds, and the standout trainer stat on the card sits right here. Henry De Bromhead has gone 9/36 in the last 14 days. That is a 25% strike rate, miles ahead of anyone else on this card, and with Gary Carroll in the saddle, this is a serious combination.
Churchwarden’s form of 4706-0 does not scream out at you, but this is a 0-60 handicap at a summer track, and De Bromhead does not saddle horses without a plan. His Tramore record of 15% winners and an A/E of 0.77 is not spectacular at the course, but the yard is in hot form right now and that overrides course stats when a trainer is this live.
The market has Chopsticks at 13/8 as the clear favourite, and Highway Sixty One at 11/4 as second choice. Both are reasonable, but Chopsticks is trained by John C McConnell who has gone 0/22 in the last 14 days. That is a stable in serious cold water. Oppose.
Churchwarden at 9/1 in a 13-runner handicap with four places is a genuine each-way proposition. De Bromhead in form, Carroll doing the steering, and a double-digit price in a wide-open contest.
8:00 โ August Festival Early Bird Packages Handicap (2m, 11 runners)
Selection: Inchiquin Maid Each-Way at 8/1 (Boyle Sports, Betfred, LiveScore Bet)
Two miles on good ground, and the form book points firmly to a mare who knows how to win. Inchiquin Maid’s last completed figure is a 1, a win, and Terence O’Brien has gone 1/8 in the last 14 days with that recent winner keeping the yard ticking over.
The market favourite Matt Connor at 11/4 makes appeal on paper, Colin Keane takes the ride and his last run was a win, but J P Dempsey has gone 0/5 recently and Keane will have livelier options on the card. At 11/4 you are not being compensated for the yard concern.
Mr Rango with Siobhan Rutledge is worth a mention. Rutledge’s Tramore course stats are excellent, 15% wins with an A/E of 1.26, meaning punters backing her at Tramore have beaten the market. The form line of 474582 is consistent, and James M Barcoe’s 0/14 run is the spanner in the works. Hard to back confidently with a trainer that cold, even with a jockey this sharp at the track.
Inchiquin Maid gets the vote. A winner last time, three places at 1/5 on offer in an 11-runner field, and 8/1 is a generous price for a mare coming off a victory. O’Brien keeping one warm and sending her back out on the same good ground she won on.
Today’s NAP
Odds: 9/1 โ Boyle Sports (others: 9/1 Betfred, 9/1 LiveScore Bet)
Henry De Bromhead at 25% over the last 14 days is the sharpest trainer stat on the entire card, and Gary Carroll is a booking that demands respect at any track. A 13-runner handicap with four places at 1/5 odds means each-way backers have a realistic safety net, and 9/1 represents genuine value against a market led by a horse from a yard that has gone 0/22 in recent weeks. This is exactly the type of race where in-form yards take the money.
