Valley Greyhound Tips – Tuesday 19 May 2026

Valley Greyhound Stadium in Swansea hosts a 14-race card on Tuesday, with the first race at 14:26 and the final at 18:16. Wales’s busiest greyhound venue continues to deliver competitive racing with strong local support.

2 Ballyroe Buckeye 4y D J A Danahar 411
3 Hawkfield Tiktok 2y D D S Davy 352
4 Puckane Ceol 3y B A N Morgan No form
5 Swift Kadesha 3y B D S Davy No form

Crokers Brian arrives from Sheffield with excellent recent form, winning at A3 grade on 3 May by a length and finishing second on 10 April at the same track and distance. He has shown he can handle the 460m trip and compete at A3 level. However, Ballyroe Buckeye presents a stronger case for Valley specialists: two recent wins at this grade on 30 April and 21 April, both achieved from Trap 2, with strong mid-race positioning noted in the comments. The dog shows consistency in A4 company with wins arriving via quick away and early leadership. Trap 2 has shown 22% strike rate on Valley’s 460m over the last 21 days, well above the poorest traps. NAP: Ballyroe Buckeye, Trap 2.

3 Bluejig Duke 2y D D S Davy 342
4 Sheep Dip Jim 3y D J A Danahar No form
5 Brave Billy 3y D J A Danahar No form

Quare Surprise holds a recent Invitation race win from 15 April (by 1.5 lengths, early pace and rails) and has run three podium finishes in the last five starts at Valley. The dog shows consistent form at this grade and benefits from early pacemaking ability. Bluejig Duke, trained by D S Davy, ran a runner-up finish on 3 May from Trap 1 at A4 level, winning by just 4.75 lengths behind, and backed that with a third-place finish at A3 grade on 14 May. However, Quare Surprise’s Invitation race success and proven leadership from the traps gives the edge. The dog has won from Trap 1 recently and understands how to control a race. NAP: Quare Surprise, Trap 1.

15:59 – Grade A3 460m

4 Ashway Jessie 1y B A Rawlings No form
5 Santas Ranger 3y D D S Davy No form
6 Rockmount Polly 4y B A L Jeffery No form

Choctawhatate is the standout runner here with two consecutive wins at A4 and A5 grades on 12 May and 6 May respectively, with the latter achieved by 2.25 lengths. The dog is rated at A3 today but demonstrates winning form at the lowest end of higher grades. Trap 3 is assigned, which records a 23% strike rate at Valley’s 460m over the last 21 days, the joint-best trap position on the track. Choctawhatate has won from Trap 4 recently (multiple occasions) so will be comfortable in the middle trap ranges. Affleck Henbit shows two second-place finishes but lacks the recent victory sequence. NAP: Choctawhatate, Trap 3.

17:14 – Grade A5 460m

3 Cailin Saoirse 3y B J A Danahar 422
4 Confey Sile 4y B D S Davy No form
5 Memories Clash 3y B G Wright No form

Springwood Fred produced a dominant Invitation race win on 22 April by 5.75 lengths, leading from Trap 3 and finishing well. The dog has shown three top-three finishes in five recent starts and sat second again on 12 May, losing by only half a length. Consistency is excellent and the dog has proven ability to compete at A5 grade with regular podium success. Cailin Saoirse shows four second-place finishes in the last five starts but has not won recently, finishing fourth on 12 May. Ardmayle Topaz recorded a second-place finish on 5 May, lost by a head, but has struggled to convert form into wins. Springwood Fred’s recent Invitation victory and multiple second-place finishes demonstrate peak fitness and readiness. NAP: Springwood Fred, Trap 2.

Valley’s card spans A3 to A5 grades on the sand surface, with all feature races set at the standard 460m trip. Trap 3 has shown the strongest strike rate (23%) at this distance across recent data, making middle-trap draws attractive prospects. Forecast and reverse forecast markets offer good value in competitive A3 and A4 company.
