Wolverhampton (AW) Tips: Friday 10 April 2026
A Friday evening card at Dunstall Park under the floodlights. Standard going on the Polytrack, eight races, and a handful of genuinely competitive contests. The Conditions Stakes at 4:50 is the headline act, with some smart juveniles-turned-three-year-olds returning for their second campaigns. With the boxing undercard heating up tomorrow night, settle in and find the value on the AW first.

Eight runners, several making seasonal or AW debuts, which always introduces uncertainty. But the angles here are clear enough if you cut through the noise.
Ten Carat Harry (11/4, Bet365) is the pick. Jamie Osborne's yard is cold on the stats (0/13 last 14 days) and that needs acknowledging, but the horse himself is the story. He reeled off five consecutive wins and his two subsequent thirds have both been laced with excuses. The Newcastle effort a week ago, where he was drawn wide and racing into a stiff headwind with no cover, absolutely can be upgraded. He arrives fit, he knows how to win, and 11/4 on a horse whose form figures read 11-133 underplays how good he actually is. Saffie Osborne takes the ride.
Tadej (11/2, William Hill) is a fascinating each-way shout at a bigger price. Archie Watson's yard is ticking over at 4/19 in the last fortnight, so the operation is functioning. This horse won a Deauville Group 3 in first-time blinkers last August, gets those blinkers back today after wearing cheekpieces at Kempton, drops back to a trip that genuinely suits, and is in the hands of Hollie Doyle. A gelding operation has freshened him up. The RPR of 111 is the highest in the race. He's the class act.
Anthelia (13/2, William Hill) makes her AW debut and won the Dick Poole Group 3 at Salisbury on soft. She's a fascinating wildcard but AW debut plus seasonal return is one unknown too many to make her the NAP.
5:58 Download The Racecourse App Fillies' Novice Stakes (1mยฝf, Standard)
Five runners, two realistic contenders. This is a straight fight and the market has it broadly right.
Caim (11/8, Bet365) is the selection. Edward Bethell's yard is flying at 3/9 in the last 14 days, which is a strike rate you cannot ignore. Caim won a Beverley novice at 10/1 in September, then went to a Newbury Listed event and finished a close second on soft ground. That form is a clear notch above this field. She makes her AW debut today but the key context is the trainer's current form. When Bethell sends one that's ready to run, it runs. The class edge is real. Callum Rodriguez, who knows the yard well, takes the ride.
Estissa (8/11, Bet365) is the favourite and has a legitimate case, winning this course and distance last month with Oisin Murphy up. But 8/11 on a lightly raced filly facing Caim's superior form credentials is a price you fade, not take.
6:30 Get The Inside Track Handicap (6f, Standard)
Whenthedealinsdone Each-Way (9/1, Unibet/BetTom) is the value play in this eight-runner sprint handicap. Roger Teal's yard has been in decent form at 2/8 over the past two weeks. This horse went 2-2 over this exact course and distance, was then off the track for the best part of a year, and announced his return with a narrow defeat at Chelmsford a month ago. He was edged out rather than beaten out of sight. A 2lb rise since his last C&D win is nothing to panic over. At 9/1, the each-way return across three places at 1/5 odds makes this a genuine bet. George Wood rides.
Hunky Dory is interesting after the stable switch to Jack Morland and had excuses on his debut for the yard at Chelmsford (raced too freely). The drop to Wolverhampton in calmer circumstances could suit. Monitor before committing at 6/1.
Papa Cocktail (11/4, Bet365) won over this course and distance in January and has run respectably since in tougher company. He's the likely market leader and deserves respect, but 11/4 in a competitive eight-runner handicap is a price for the win-only punter only.
Today's NAP
Odds: 11/2 โ William Hill (others: 11/2 Unibet, 6.4 Betfair Exchange)
The highest-rated horse in the race at RPR 111, a Group 3 winner in France and Deauville last summer, returning in the headgear that produced his best. The gelding operation has freshened him up and the drop back to 6f from 1m at Kempton is a positive move. Hollie Doyle is a strong booking and Archie Watson's yard is active and placing horses intelligently. At 11/2, this is a fair price on a horse who on his best form is simply better than anything else in this field.
