Wolverhampton (AW), Tuesday 2 June 2026
Eight races under the floodlights at Dunstall Park on a standard Fibresand surface, with mostly cloudy conditions keeping the track consistent throughout. With the Epsom Derby just four days away, the big-race spotlight is firmly elsewhere, which often means the bookmakers price these midweek AW cards a touch lazily. That creates opportunity. Three races worth targeting tonight, with a couple of standout angles that the form book supports strongly.

Selection: Navertity Each-Way at 5/2 (Boyle Sports / Betfred)
An intriguing debut runner from Harry Charlton’s yard, who has been firing at a 42% strike rate over the last 14 days. Oisin Murphy takes the ride, and at Wolverhampton he converts at 22% with an A/E ratio sitting at 0.94. Murphy does not waste his time on no-hopers in these restricted novice races and the booking is significant.
The pedigree shouts class. Her dam was a French 1m-1m2f winner including at Group 3 level with an RPR of 109, making this 70,000 euro yearling one of the better-bred runners on tonight’s card. Six furlongs may be on the sharp side for her longer term, but Charlton regularly introduces his better juveniles over shorter before stepping them up, and Murphy will know exactly what he is sitting on.
Mr Noble is the obvious danger at evens. He was impressive at Newcastle on debut and three of those he beat have since won. But he carries a penalty, has not been seen since December, and even money is a short price for a horse with a lengthy absence to overcome. Manly Fireball at 11/4 has placed over C&D and is solid, but relatively exposed.
Navertity at 5/2 with Murphy up and Charlton in form is a proper each-way play. Three places at 1/5 odds in a ten-runner field.
7:30 โ attheraces.com/marketmovers Classified Stakes (1mยฝf, Standard)
Selection: Lady Of Clover at 2/1 (Boyle Sports / Betfred)
George Scott is running at 16% at Wolverhampton over the long haul and has sent out four winners from 18 runners in the last fortnight. Lady Of Clover drops into a classified stakes having placed in two of her three starts at the 0-55 handicap level, including over this course and distance. That C&D experience matters on a track that can catch horses cold first time.
She is only a 3yo filly taking on older horses, but the weight allowance compensates, and the Spotlight assessment has her as the one to beat. Liam Wright claims 5lb and while the market will factor that in, it also means Scott has chosen to go with a lighter burden rather than a bigger name. At 2/1 in a 13-runner classified event, this is a fair price for the best form figure in the race.
Ciotog at 4/1 has won over C&D before and drops to the lowest grade he has contested, so cannot be entirely dismissed. But a losing run stretching to 18 is a serious red flag even at this level. Knightmare at 11/4 has been placed eight times in 16 starts and drops in class for the first time, which makes him dangerous. Lady Of Clover’s upside edges her ahead of both on balance.

Selection: Zoulette at 11/8 (Boyle Sports / Betfred)
This one requires no great detective work, but the angle is sound enough to make it the NAP of the night. Zoulette, a daughter of Zoustar, took a significant step forward on her second handicap start last week at Leicester, pressing strongly before being collared only in the final strides. She comes here off a mark that is 1lb lower than when she finished second at Leicester, which is a small but meaningful gift from the handicapper.
Ollie Sangster’s yard is running at 16% at this track with an A/E of 1.15, the only trainer in the course stats sitting above 1.0, which means his runners here hit above their market weight. Billy Loughnane retains the ride after partnering her to that Leicester second, and his Wolverhampton course figures are strong at 19%.
The opposition looks beatable. Amazing Anita has run a good C&D second for her previous yard but is now with a small operation. South Coast Star has been below her C&D form at Kempton and Catterick since March. Thehunnebelllegacy shaped with promise at Catterick but remains unproven on the AW. Zoulette is progressing, suits the surface, and has the right connections for this venue.
- Zoulette: 11/8, Sangster/Loughnane combination, progressive, handicap mark a gift
- Amazing Anita: Each-way interest at 6/1, solid C&D form for previous yard
- Thehunnebelllegacy: 9/2, eye on future but AW unproven
Today’s NAP
Odds: 11/8 โ Boyle Sports (others: 11/8 Betfred, 5/4 LiveScore Bet)
Zoulette is on a clear upward curve after her narrow Leicester defeat seven days ago, and she races off a mark 1lb lower here. Ollie Sangster’s yard punches above its weight at Wolverhampton with an A/E of 1.15, the standout figure among all trainers at the track, and Billy Loughnane keeps the ride having steered her to that near-miss. Standard Fibresand suits, the opposition is no stronger, and this looks a well-timed strike for the team.
