Yarmouth Greyhound Tips – Sunday, 17 May 2026

Yarmouth hosts a full 12-race card on this Norfolk Sunday, with the first race at 11:01 and the finale at 14:07 across the sand surface. This traditional East Anglian coastal venue has produced consistent form data over the past 21 days, with trap 4 emerging as the standout draw at 462m, winning 27% of races against a baseline of 16-22% for other traps.

11:18 – Grade A1 462m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Tenalach 2y B R Thom 162
2 Cassandras Girl 3y B E Samuels 412
3 Kilara Trojan 3y D I Barnard 146
4 Kilara Reaper 2y D I Barnard No form
5 Coolruss Ronnie 1y D R D Copping No form
6 Ballycowen Harry 3y D E Samuels No form

This is a competitive A1 affair headlined by recent winners. Tenalach (Trap 1) produced an impressive victory at this track and grade just last Sunday (10 May), leading from Rls and winning by 3.5 lengths at 8.00 odds. The dog showed excellent form earlier in April with two seconds, but suffered a bad card clash on 3 May (finished 6th, carded at 7.00). Recovery wins do follow poor runs, and Trap 1 has historical support at Yarmouth 462m (16% strike rate).

Cassandras Girl (Trap 2) is a three-year-old bitch with genuine A1 credentials. She won at this track and grade on 4 May (2.00-length victory, 3.25 odds), and returned to A1 five days later, finishing 4th despite a carding on the first bend. Her best form shows wins and near-wins in mid-trap racing. Trap 2 sits at 18% historically.

Kilara Trojan (Trap 3) won at A1 just one day ago (9 May) from Trap 4, leading and running on hard in the final 100m. The dog has proven A1 class with form string showing 1, 4, 6, 1, 3 across recent A1 runs – solid consistency despite that sixth-place finish on 27 April. However, the horse is drawn in Trap 3 today, and recent wins have come from the more favoured Trap 4 position.

NAP: Cassandras Girl, Trap 2. The bitch has the most recent A1 victory, clean trap draw, and mid-trap positioning offers balance at 462m on Yarmouth sand. Forecast markets should favour her as the value play here.

13:51 – Grade A2 462m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Aayamza Dreamer 2y D K Windebank 552
2 Farneys Mabel 4y B P Cross 112
3 Infortherun 2y B E Samuels 522
4 Good Steel 3y D E Samuels No form
6 Ballycowen Alfie 2y D E Samuels No form

Farneys Mabel (Trap 2) is the standout banker in this race. The four-year-old has won three of her last five races across grades A3 and A4, and her most recent outing (6 May) was a convincing head victory at A3 from Rls-Mid, leading from trap 1 at 8.00. She has form evidence of winning from both Trap 1 and Trap 2, showing adaptability. Her form string reads 1, 1, 2, 2, 2 – the reversal to grade A2 will sharpen her, and she has beaten this class before.

Infortherun (Trap 3) is a young bitch with blistering early-pace form at A2. She was beaten by a nose (nk) on 27 April from mid-trap, and ran second again 20 April by 1.5 lengths. The recent fifth on 6 May at A2 (11.5 lengths) suggests a dip in form, but at just two years old she has sprint form (two A1 placings at 277m). Trap 3 presents at 22% strike rate.

Aayamza Dreamer (Trap 1) won at A1 on 11 April (3.5 lengths, 4.50 odds) but has since slipped form at that grade, recording 5, 5, 2, 5 across four A1 runs. Carding issues appear in recent form comments. This step down to A2 is sensible, but Trap 1 is not the ideal draw at Yarmouth 462m (16%).

NAP: Farneys Mabel, Trap 2. Proven A2 class, recent A3 winner, three wins in five races, and Trap 2 is solid at 18%. She represents the form pick in a tightly contested heat.

13:33 – Grade A4 462m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Loverly Jubley 3y B E Samuels 233
2 Naphill 3y B E Samuels 263
3 Horizontal 1y D K Windebank 512
5 Swift Engine 2y D I Barnard No form
6 Divine Justice 3y B C Morris No form

Horizontal (Trap 3) is a young dog with an upward form curve. Despite finishing fifth on 10 May, he has won twice in recent outings (1 May at A5, 20 April at A6), showing quick progression through the grades. He has led nearly to the line on multiple occasions and benefits from mid-trap racing (22% strike rate). The recent fifth was from a leading position that faded, but juveniles at this level often show inconsistency. Trap 3 offers recovery opportunity.

Loverly Jubley (Trap 1) is a consistent A4 performer with a run of places: 2nd, 3rd, 2nd across the grade, and form including quick-away clues and rails running. She was second on 4 May at A4 by 2.5 lengths. Solid grade experience but Trap 1 carries just 16% strike rate historically, and she shows no winning form here.

Naphill (Trap 2) also competes at A4, with a recent second (6 May, 3.25 lengths) from quick-away rails. She has form across A3 and A4, but a sixth-place finish on 29 April at A3 and mixed grade performances suggest she is mid-tier in this race.

NAP: Horizontal, Trap 3. Young, progressive, two recent wins despite regression on 10 May, and mid-trap draw offers solid platform at 462m. Value pick in an open A4 contest.

12:26 – Grade A5 462m

Trap Dog Age Trainer Last 3
1 Fab Roy 3y B C Morris 223
2 Crypto Jackpot 3y D E Samuels 124
3 Perpendicular 3y B P Cross 132
4 Unlikely Reggie 2y D R Thom No form
6 Unlikely Biscuit 2y B K Windebank No form

Crypto Jackpot (Trap 2) won just four days ago on 10 May at A6 by 0.75 lengths from rails-middle, carding on the first bend but leading in the run-in at 7.00 odds. His prior two races show form at A6: second by 0.5 lengths (4 May), and fourth by 3.75 lengths (29 April). This step up to A5 is a slight grade rise, but the dog has winning form and Trap 2 sits at a solid 18% strike rate. Carding issues are present but he recovers well.

Fab Roy (Trap 1) is a three-year-old bitch with recent second-place form at A5 (10 May, head defeat, 1.73 odds) and rails-led running. However, her form is mixed across recent runs, and she has been in season (25 February entry marked -1). Trap 1 at 462m carries only 16% advantage.

Perpendicular (Trap 3) won at A7 on 10 May by 1.5 lengths from mid-trap at 10.00 odds, showing strong late running. She has two wins in five recent races and consistent mid-trap form. However, A5 represents a grade rise and she will face stronger opposition. Trap 3 is at 22%.

NAP: Crypto Jackpot, Trap 2. Recent A6 winner, strong closing form, carding recovery pattern, Trap 2 at 18% strike rate, and A5 grade suits his improvement curve.

Meeting Overview

The card spans A1 through A5, with all races at the standard 462m trip on sand. Trap 4’s dominance (27% strike rate) should be noted for later races not featured here; punters should track trap allocation through the afternoon. No sprints or staying races feature on this Sunday card.

Punters’ Note

Odds will firm sharply in the 30 minutes before each race; check your SP with Betfair, Bet365, SkyBet, or William Hill approximately 15 minutes pre-race for best value. Forecast and reverse forecast markets are popular in greyhound racing – Farneys Mabel and Crypto Jackpot both offer strong forecast potential given their recent winning form. Each-way betting is uncommon at UK tracks due to small field sizes, so focus on win and forecast plays.
