Yarmouth, Friday 26 June 2026: Tips, Angles and the NAP
A seven-race card at Yarmouth on good to firm ground under partly sunny skies. Not the most glamorous fixture on the calendar, but Yarmouth has its own logic: the straight mile suits certain types, trainer and jockey course stats matter more than at most tracks, and value regularly hides in the classified and confined events that the big-market operators price lazily. Three races stand out today.

Four runners, 1m6f on good to firm. Small field, so no each-way badge here, but the race has a clear angle worth taking seriously.
Mountbatten is the 4/6 jolly for Sir Mark Prescott, and normally that would be enough on its own. Prescott’s Yarmouth record is outstanding: 22% strike rate from nearly 400 runners with an A/E of 1.14, the best of any trainer at this track. The form reads 877-1, and that sole win is the key data point. He clearly needed time, and Prescott rarely runs a horse at a trip without knowing it can see it out. Stevie Donohoe takes the ride and the yard is 0/10 in the last 14 days, which tempers enthusiasm slightly, but Prescott is a trainer who tends to peak when the handicapper hasn’t caught up.
Kelly Burn at 11/4 (Boyle Sports) is the danger. Fanshawe’s filly has placed twice in five starts and the 5/2 available at Betfred represents a reasonable price for a mare who looks progressive. Cieren Fallon is a strong booking for a yard that runs horses to win.
Selection: Mountbatten at 4/6 (Boyle Sports, Betfred). The Prescott course angle is hard to dismiss, the step up to 1m6f suits a horse bred to get a trip, and the market has him right. Not a betting race at odds-on, but if you want a confidence single in your accumulator, this is it.

Luzon Heights is 4/5 favourite for William Knight, and the 12-524 form reads better than it looks at first glance. The colt has finished placed twice from six starts and clearly goes on good to firm ground. Cieren Fallon is a smart choice, and Knight’s yard has been quietly consistent. At odds-on, though, the market is giving you very little room for error.
The angle here is Berry Clever at 6/1 (Boyle Sports, Betfred), ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. The form reads 332145, which is a horse that competes consistently and just got back to winning ways with that recent fifth strike. De Sousa’s Yarmouth record is excellent: 19% winners from 466 rides with an A/E of 1.03. He knows this track cold. Chris Dwyer’s yard has one winner from eight in the last 14 days, steady rather than flying, but Berry Clever at 6/1 against an odds-on favourite in a nine-runner maiden looks like genuine value.
With only nine runners this is not an each-way race in the traditional sense (two places at 1/4), but the price warrants a win bet with confidence.
Selection: Berry Clever at 6/1 (Boyle Sports, Betfred). De Sousa on form, consistent recent runs, and the favourite has to go odds-on to beat him.
12:30 โ QuinnBet Classified Stakes (7f)
Eight runners over seven furlongs, three places each-way at 1/5 odds. This is the race of the day for value hunters.
Kimbara is the 7/4 favourite for Richard Spencer, and Spencer’s Yarmouth record demands respect: 18% strike rate at A/E 1.16, currently 4/12 in the last 14 days. That is a yard in form. Saffie Osborne takes the ride and the 4462 form suggests a horse finding his feet who could step forward here. Short enough for a classified stakes, but the trainer angle is real.
The bet, however, is Rogue Allegiance Each-Way at 11/4 (Boyle Sports, Betfred). Harry Davies rides and his Yarmouth numbers are solid: 16% from 114 rides, A/E 1.08. The form reads 9-6232, which means this horse has placed in three of his last four starts. In a classified stakes, placed form is everything, and a horse who hits the frame consistently at this level is exactly the type to nail a race like this. Jack Jones’ yard is quiet at 0/14 in the last 14 days, but classified races often reward horses running to consistent form rather than ones suddenly peaking. Three places at 1/5 the odds makes the each-way case straightforward at 11/4.
Selection: Rogue Allegiance each-way at 11/4 (Boyle Sports, Betfred).
Today’s NAP
Odds: 4/6 โ Boyle Sports (others: 4/6 Betfred, 4/5 LiveScore Bet)
Sir Mark Prescott targets Yarmouth more effectively than any trainer in training, posting a 22% strike rate with an A/E of 1.14 from nearly 400 runners at the track. Mountbatten’s 877-1 record shows a horse who needed time to mature, and the step to 1m6f on good to firm ground looks ideal for a stayer who has clearly been placed to win. Cieren Fallon’s booking on Kelly Burn keeps this from being a formality, but Prescott rarely fields odds-on shots at this course without good reason.
